Tough loss but I wouldn’t put too much on it. Bayern gained Robben while Arsenal lost four starters and a sub: Walcott, Ramsey, Bellerin, Koscielny, and almost all down the right side. Even Bayern would have trouble handling that kind of injury crisis.

What’s more worrying and probably a death knell for Arsenal’s title hopes is that the annual injury caravan has returned. There’s something seriously wrong with the training program there and although information is scarce, by all accounts Wenger is stuck in the 90s/early 00s, with his distaste for gym work and ignoring certain medical advice, and reliance on on-the-ball training almost all the time.

Modern sports science thinking is all non-impact muscle/tendon injuries are preventable, theoretically. Wenger doesn’t believe that that should be the goal; he still think they’re inevitable.

At least I’m happy he didn’t listen to armchair pundits who cried out for the likes of Benzema. We would’ve been left with no proven strikers at all.

So Wenger believes man created God to suit his needs and in the Bible?
