Hope Flamini’s back for the second leg. Difficult regardless, but we’ll see how much of a difference he makes.

  • made

they gave too much space against such a strong team

well flamini was a miss today- but lewandowski should have been sent off for that elbow..disgraceful. we played better in second half and caz so close to giving us the lead. hard fought game and just unlucky at end. we needed to start game better tho
    close group now!!

Last I watched, the “Longer Highlights” was a game where Dortmund trounced Bayern. Thanks Arsenalist. =)

Before the game, I talked to my friend about the need to rest some key players during this tough run of games (in EPL and CL). We have enough quality and good enough manager to know what team can see through these couple of weeks. We have Nicklas who is comfortable moving with the ball and in midfield we have abundance of top quality.

Although I didn’t watch the match but I fear Jack is on the edge and Ramsey and Ozil might need some rest before we face the physical teams like Chelski and Manure.

Clearly Arteta doesn’t have the stamina and burst like Flamini, so we need a player such as Wilshere or Ramsey to help him out in the defending that rigorously. Flamini’s mobility and sense of leadership was the key part in the 07/08 run, but I also think Arteta is not in his best form. He’s still settling in, and it must be quick now!

I’m surprised that Gnabry hasn’t played recently. A winger like that and Ozil in the centre are sufficient to keep the defenders busy, making space of Giroud and co to bag in the goals. The more possibilities of positions a team can launch an attack from, the more threat you can cause to the defence. Wenger seems to overlook that.

Just watched the highlights and it’s pleasing to see Gnabry play really well again. Hopefully he will play against Chelski and help us get a good result. His confidence is sky high now and I guess Arsenal need him, especially in Walcott’s absence.
