Wenger Interview

  • Sufian

    Ramsey playing on right-wing again? Does this mean Walcott is leaving? Kind of used to such things. A few seasons ago when Arsenal was not winning but still used to play with a spirit and that fantastic style, which isn’t the case anymore. Maybe Rosicky was right about the atmosphere not helping the younger players.

  • GunnerKS

    1:1 but still shocking….absolutely awful

  • GunnerKS

    this was our 1st team choice…against a 2nd league team….Champions League here we come in ….2037

  • Sufian

    Ramsey ain’t a winger or even worthy Right mid, he’s a central midfield. Why waste games playing him there? He can make good passes and dribble too but no pace and only a liability (even more so than Gervinho). I’d say Podolski would make a fine targetman but no idea why Wenger wastes talents by trying playing them out of position. Could someone suggest him a good football manager game please? :(

  • GunnerKS

    David Moyes

  • Sufian

    Is that a game? He’s a very talented manager though.

  • MrBojangles

    not so shocked by the result. Getting used to this kind of results lately…

  • Leigh

    WENGER GET OUT OF THIS CLUB NOW

  • mofaz

    Wow! What a load of crap ..Wenger must be glad he has an excellent excuse if Arsenal lost or drew against Reading ..the players are exhausted ..mentally fragile etc.. No winning mentality ..full stop!

  • Leigh

    I mean, I have always rated him and late 90′s – mid 0′s he was indispensable. Times have changed, bigger clubs with bigger money have come in and invested in players for today, not in three years time, now our players will have a good season then get cherry picked thus making our team weaker. Spurs I think will finally pip us this season, and that is due to Arsene’s fickle perception of supremacy and “belief” that the team is good enough to challenge for throphies and titles, clearly nearly 8 years on the stats do not lie !

  • dubbledubs71

    szczhny vermaelen sagna arteta wilshire walcott & maybe podolski thats the only decent players arsenal have the rest are pure muck and not fit to wear the shirt. arsenal football club are playing a game of chicken with their fans, just how much will they tolerate?. i cant believe we have turned into a mid table team & thats being kind, no one seems to have a clue how to defend pass or score. arsenals 2nd team should be beating bradford easily & there were as many 1st teamers as 2nds. simply not acceptable. please let mr usmanov loose with his chequebook now & put silent stan back in the gimp closet

  • http://gnostradamus.com Gnostradamus

    At least one person blamed a certain French defender for losing a game. Now what?

    A full-strength first team gets beat by League Two. It’s amazing if anyone still has excuses. But I’m sure we’ll hear from them soon.

    Champions League? Not even a League Cup.

  • Reza

    Just watched the Gervinho miss, unbelievable!!! Does this douchebag know he’s got a right foot as well to make use of? Does this look familiar? (Watch Arsenal-Newcastle & Arsenal-Chelsea last season). If you were Cesc, Robin or Nasri, would you stay at Arsenal playing with this kind of crap players to waste your time. We won’t win anything with B-Players! Ramsey, Gervinho, Chamakh, Djourou, Denilson, … we can’t even sell them. Arsene has lost the plot. He keeps playing our best players out of position so we lose, they get frustrated and leave the club. Would you blame Theo if he leaves? Do we have a more clinical striker in the team at the moment. Why not playing him up front? Our midfielder are all similar players, that’s why the team is not ticking. Arene gambled our season by not replacing crook Diaby with a decent holding midfielder. The problem is, now, no team in England are afraid of Arsenal. We are a toothless team. Our stikers cannot convert a simple tap-in. Look at the matches we have won this season. QPR, we scored an offside goal after their player got sent off. Tottenham, no chance if Ade wasn’t sent off. West Brom, you know what! Something has to change now otherwise next season we’ll be battling it out with bottom three teams in PL. This one was a fourth tier team, what would Barca do with us if we draw them in Champions League !!!

  • mofaz

    If Arsene is offered a new contract then we know for sure that winning trophies is not the first priority of the Owner and the Board. Arsene is good at balancing the book and getting profits which suit the Owner and the Board. These people don’t care less about the fans, all they want is the top 4 finish and maximum attendance for ticket sales. This must be one of the many dark days of Arsenal football club but i fear worse is yet to come …

  • mofaz

    Wonder where Jellykid and his positive spins ..?

  • mofaz

    “It was a difficult and slippery pitch that we had to contend with..” That’s right Monsieur Wenger blames it on the pitch ..its not the Player’s fault certainly not My fault ..its the bloody pitch’s fault for being too slippery and of course it’s the weather’s fault for being too cold in middle of December …no wonder Arsene claimed that everybody’s against Arsenal ..

  • http://gnostradamus.com Gnostradamus

    “If Arsene is offered a new contract then we know for sure that winning trophies is not the first priority of the Owner and the Board.”

    Uh, they’ve said many times CL qualification is first priority.

  • Sufian

    @Gnostradamus, talking about Wenger’s extension, it should always remind you of the profit the board is making, and obviously the ever-silent Kroenke.
    And no, we won’t finish outside top 4, board is (luckily) intelligent enough to provide some money for transfer business in January, with some outs contributing that.

  • a.k.a gunner

    @Sufian

    That’s right.. Board and Wenger will do just enough to get us to 4th place in January

  • mofaz

    Arsenal sorely missing the main striker with proven EPL record i.e. RVP. The performance of Gervinho and Giroud is a stark reminder that the French League is not on par with the English League. Arsenal could be up the table challenging for the title if RVP was not sold to ManU..He was the top scorer in form striker and the captain yet Arsenal sold him to a bitter rival ..how crazy is that?

  • Gunner

    ddsf

  • Gunner

    God,I wish i could punch wenger in the face…..

  • Vic from Russia

    Run, Arshavin, run…!

    Escape from this stupid team of brainless players…

    Пидарасы, просрали все что Аршавин и Улкотт добыли с невероятным трудом в матче против Рединга.

    Арсенал еще в понедельник пиздюлей получит от злого Рединга – тот реванш возьмет, к бабке не ходи.

  • Dillinho

    it’s disgusting to watch this team play and i know what that means, i’m from austria i have seen a lot of really bad matches, matches what you consider to be a match of 7 year olds, but the performance that arsenal shows lately is just… well there is not even a word for this terrible football…

  • enough now!

    Did I hear someone saying ” In Arsene We trust “??

  • enough now!

    Wenger felt the surface at Valley Parade did not help the visitors.
    ——————————————
    The Gunners did not force a save out of Bantams keeper Matt Duke until the 69th minute but Wenger insisted his team had created enough overall.
    ——————————————–
    from Sky
    I agree totally!! of course with Wenger. …AND YOU ?

  • Disappointed

    Dear Arteta, Carzola, Per Mertesacker, Podolski, Vermaelen, Giroud, Gervinho, Ramsey, Sagna, Wilshere, AOC

    If you happen to see this website, do leave Arsenal if you want to win something… if you can’t win anything elsewhere, at least get a better pay check.

    Good job Walcott!!! Play out the Tactical Professor.

  • Disappointed

    Obviously our Professor doesn’t learn his lesson from Fab, RVP and company… He is still fooling around with our better players…

    Who can he Arse? Wenger? Oh my god…

  • kalone

    I’m tired of hoping now. Wenger needs to sit down and really think this one through.

  • mofaz

    Thing is Arsene will not resign and he obviously will not be sacked .. so best thing to happen is for Arsenal to fail to finish in top 8 and not compete in Europe next season ..

  • Sufian

    @Vic from Russia, I wish so, and hope that he plays for another Premier League team. I want him to grab some goals/assists to silent the noisy blacksheeps aka his critics.

    @Mofaz, weren’t you against RVP when he left? Why would you speak so much against the player one day and then say that Arsenal would’ve been challenging for title if he was not sold? It would be better if you control your emotions as this is the thing which makes people bash your posts.

  • Sufian

    @Mofaz, wish as much as you can, Wenger will never be sacked even in that case (finishing lower than 8). He has a degree in economics and has made Arsenal FC into a business for board and share-holders, why would he get the sack if they still make profits? The worst case would be that the season performance/final league standing would be criticized, nothing more.

  • Jellykid

    man the game was crazy, you know how when gervinho misses and we’re like always looking over it somehow because we know he isn’t a good finisher but, wow… the “Telegraph” made a gif. of his horrible miss on their website. So now EVERYONE will be reminded on how bad his finishing is lol.

    I would’ve liked the win, but I am disappointed by the loss. I still don’t think AW should be sacked and replaced. I do agree on some players in the squad not stepping up to the plate.

    I believe AW plays ramsey on the wing to convert the midfield to be stronger since he drifts A LOT. I don’t believe in Gervinho playing CF.

  • Reza

    @Jellykid
    Mate,
    Arsenal trademark style has always been based on pace. What this team suffering from is lack of pace. Unfortunately, Ramsey never recovered from that injury. At most,he can be a good central midfielder, winger! No way. He is sloppy in passing and too slow and loses the position over and over putting the team on the back foot. I reckon he should be loaned out to gain some confidence because he’s under enormous pressure at Arsenal with these poor shows.
    Gervinho is a crap player not as a winger not as a CF. His finishing is laughable. He doesn’t even know which foot he should use when a cross is coming. He’s an absolute joke. Just look at his misses in WBA match. Watching him playing is torture.

  • mofaz

    @Sufian RVP wanted to go to another club but he was still an Arsenal player back then, Arsene could have insisted that he stays until his contract ends ..yes Arsenal will lost him eventually but in next season. Being a pro he would stay on and score goals for Arsenal instead of Man U.

  • Sufian

    @Mofaz, several people had shown as if he had a so-called ‘one season wonder’ and said things like let him go if it’s all he wishes. The fact is, and one which would’ve been ridiculed had I said back then, RVP was not just a person with the armband, he was a true leader and led the team by example, character and fighting spirit. Of course the board had (miscalculated) economic factors which allowed him to leave but it showed over-confidence of some supporters/fans that another RVP would arise this season.
    If I’m not wrong, you were ranting against him as well, what happened now?

    @Jellykid, sacking Wenger would be unimaginable for the board and the greedy share-holders. I sometimes am surprised by supporter’s attitude, like how they thought of Kroenke to fix the investment stuff at Arsenal. Simple thing is that these business people only care about money and themselves.
    It hurts to say that Wenger has destroyed careers of players. Just a season ago Ramsey was playing so great and we barely missed Fabregas, and 2 seasons ago we barely missed RVP when Chamakh was there and the little magician too played and bagged some vital points. Another fact and it would hurt some stupid people here: Arshavin had a decline last season because there was no Clichy and his replacements had poor positioning and he had to defend + attack. Excellent work done by some of the critics who post here. I’m sure the club which will sign him now, will be so proud of you people.

    @Disappointed, I’d remove the names of Vermaelen, Gervinho and maybe Ramsey from there. These players are consistently under-performing.

  • mofaz

    @Sufian although i detest RVP for leaving Arsenal but put it in perspective Arsenal will never offer a long term contract extension when he reaches 30 yrs old and these coming few years are the final years of his career. Walcott on the other hand is a very strange case but i think he’s a Cashly Cole sort of issue.. Walcott is going to Liverpool or Man City ..

  • dubbledubs71

    wahey! big transfer kitty for january. is this the 50m promised from the naming rights or will there be additional funds, cuz to be honest arsenal need to spend 70-80 mil, two top quality defenders 1 of which needs to be a leader who can organize the defence cuz there seems to be very little communication between the back four & a top class out & out striker. lets hope the money has a not to be spent on french, african or championship clause. proven players are the only thing that can dig us out of this mess. the wage cap needs to be changed, how can the likes of chamakh squallachi denilson pick up around 50k a week & never play while the ones that are playing week in week out, most are on around 80k.

  • Sufian

    @Mofaz, Rosicky’s contract was renewed earlier this year, when he was already 31, and I think he hadn’t hit his top form at that time, if I’m not mistaken.
    Some people speculate that Walcott isn’t being offered a contract yet! Things are very similar to politics at Arsenal. Remember players like Flamini and Ade saying that they were forced out of the club, one way or the other. I’m not a fan of Ade’s tantrums against Arsenal but you have to realise that players are forced to move on as well, to make money from transfers.

  • Sufian

    @dubbledubs71, you want to win the league but the board is happy to wait another 2 years for that. That’s the difference between people who love football and the people who earn from investment in it.
    Because players like Squillaci are likely to interest many (or any!) clubs and Denilson can’t go back to Brazil bcoz of fee Arsenal demands, and Chamakh will not leave for EPL or French League. Wenger removed him from starting 11 for no reason, and if someone can accept that then he has to accept Chamakh’s stance as well (i.e unbiased person).

  • Jellykid

    Now, after the Bradford game AW has been criticized about the game “FAIRLY” enough. The team has been criticized A LOT! Fair enough. Now I’m reading “The Telegraph” and “The Mirror” hyping more stories up after the loss.

    Like how AW’s worst big signings. Ok, now before you all have an opinion about this, AW was confronted by reporters about the big signings he’s made in the past and how they’re known bad now today. I’m so glad he responded because this pretty much answers a lot of questions about what we really thing the finances are in the club.

    The reporters questioned him about Gervinho, Chamakh, Squalicci! AW said “WHAT BIG SIGNINGS?” Gervinho was 8 Mil., Chamakh was FREE, Squallici was nearly free! He also mentioned for the first time, “you have no real idea of what the wage bills are for those players, only we do”. Clearly proves NO ONE outside Arsenal knows what the players wage bills are really. All these articles on these websites are false with their facts on the players wage bills.

    So after mentioning that, clearly we can assume sensibly we shouldn’t even bring the conversation up about spending bad or wage bills. Secondly I think the idea of lack of passion or stan kroenke ruining arsenal with business scheme or the board is kinda getting old. It can be true, because I’m not saying it isn’t but I’m saying we must look more to the REAL PICTURE on why we’re losing our games and not why we’re aren’t buying the right players.

    Arsenal used to be a fast pace team but that’s because the team was well synchronized with each other back then. Getting a new team requires time and patience and obviously its still not happening for us right now but we must keep looking at the real picture and understand this really is a NEW TEAM. I like reading peoples comments even if their negative among some extent but they must have sense in it.

    When we lose why do we talk about the board, its not like they’ll magically make us win again. You obviously can’t buy players during this time of the season. Why talk about the players we bought since its been 3 months or more since we acquired them! If they aren’t playing bad then we have right to criticize them but talking about why buy him in the first place is a bit LATE and unneeded at the moment. Then at last why sack AW? just why? because we aren’t winning? who are we going to replace him with, heck your going to sack him now, then whose his replacement and who ever he is… is he going to bring us back from our current stand. if you want to sack him in the end of the season then you must see our result in the END of the season right? so why not stick with him? unless you got some personal thing against him. lol sensible things to think about.

  • a.k.a gunner

    @Jellykid

    You’re right in some sense… stick with Wenger till the end of the season as there is no point sacking him now as we have to wait and see what players he brings in the jan window.

    And as wenger says… let the people judge him at the end of the season.

  • Sufian

    @Jellykid, some right things but I guess people get carried away by Abrahomic’s philosophy. ;)

    Having sad that, Wenger has couple of things to work out if he has to have some success with Arsenal. RVP says that Ferguson’s pep talks are inspirational for everyone. I wonder if it’s one of the things which Wenger lacks? Players like Vermaelen and Gervinho (especially looking at their ages and bold characters) can be talked in aggressive manner to perform well or lose their places. Vermaelen has made couple of mistakes this season and it’s really disappointing to see a player of his quality to make them just hurts. Gervinho just starts to play better before him or someone else being substituted. Probably he feels pressure of being subbed and works harder. Both of them have something to offer but don’t. They are no longer ‘kids’ and Wenger has to change his attitude/approach towards them or just see players leave one after the other, which is good for debt btw.

  • enough now!

    I am just wondring! so much dipute and arguments. What is going wrong there. We are the top of the league and we are on the way to win the league cup and FA cup. We will beat the best European teams like Bayern, Barcelona and Real Madrid and win the CL. So, WHAT IS FUCK IS THIS FUSS ABOUT !!!

  • a.k.a gunner

    @enough now

    LOL… i can understand what’s going on your mind mate… let’s just wait till the end of the season… patience.

    Saw Benteke tearing apart Liverpool.. reminded me of Drogba… will be a good signing for us i guess… what you think

  • mofaz

    @a.k.a gunner been waiting “end of the season” for the last 7 seasons ..someone should remind Arsene that there is no trophy for finishing top 4 ..

  • Jellykid

    there isn’t a trophy for finishing 4rth but it’s just a MERE ACCOMPLISHMENT. I want us to win the league and everything EVERY SEASON! its not like making a cake you IDIOT! MANU has money, LOOK AT THEIR WAGE BILL! CHELSEA HAS LOADS, MAN CITY is in some other planet with their cash, they seem to have lost 98 mil and not give a crap.

    The competition is REALLY hard. It wasn’t like before when we won. Truth to be told ARSENAL AREN’T a rich club compared to the ones I just mentioned. If your a true Arsenal supporter from the early 90′s then you would know the best trophy Arsenal can win is the EPL! their funding and management was barely there. Who dreamed of a champions league trophy, in relevant to everyone else arguement we haven’t won in 7 years! there are legit excuses for it but then you just can’t make them with the audience and the fans to a certain extent.

    In argument to that we were really close at times. I can argue if AW was in real madrid he was be one the highest ranking coaches. Probably would have went undefeated, who knows. He made teenagers own liverpool and chelsea!

    just stop crying and watch the next game! We are all spectators of this sport and this team. I love watching football, I’m not going to cry about players we could have bought when we didn’t or us not winning for 7 years. I will cry when Arsenal wins the league! this year or the next.

    Seriously no sense at all to all this media hype and idiots following it like there’s no tomorrow lol.

    I hate how people say some arsenal fans are deluded, I stick with my team i don’t bitch about it! Clearly there’s a lot of girls in here.

  • Sufian

    @Mofaz, slaughtering the team’s morale mid-season and not saying a word in summer is plain stupidity.

  • enough now!

    @a.k.a gunner
    I think, I owe you an answer. I do gladly. Benteke is awsome, but probably Wenger will have the brilliant idea of transforming him into a goalie.

  • enough now!

    @Jellykid
    I won´t call someone who dares change a girl.

  • Jellykid

    I know you won’t! hmm I don’t think I’ve ever asked of you to in the first place =]

  • Sufian

    @Jellykid, “enough now!” is Mofaz, don’t you think? When Mofaz’s attacks don’t work, he posts. Coincidence? I don’t think so. ;)

  • enough now!

    @Sufian

    Jellykid = Wenger: lack of healthy arguments.
    Sufian = Wenger: timid, aimless strategy
    Jellykis = Sufian

  • Arschloch

    I never agreed with Mofaz on any term, because he had all the time such fucking views, but Iam afraid now I can understand and support him more than anyone else.

  • Sufian

    @enough now!, what a come back! :P

  • Sufian

    @enough now!, I appreciate you not your insult-bag this time. :)

  • Mobeen

    I’ve not been a great fan… I missed the last game… It was late here and I passed out… It’s been a terrible season and we weren’t mad abt not winning games but we were playing horrible football… All I want is my team to fight for every inch… Inshallah tonight they will show us the fight… I understand the challenges of having to compete with the deep pockets of manC, Chelsea and big spenders like Man U, Liverpool and more… I can’t wait to prudence through the years to pay dividend..
    Arsene has taken the failings of the players, the board and absorbed all the pressure that we have imposed on him and players… We need to stand by him… If u have supported the club through the thick and thin, through a 4-0 down at reading, and have never had doubts and have always been behind the players… Then I understand ur demands for arsenes head… Else I want u to switch allegiances to a club that says fuck off to fair play and just wants to buy the game… It’s a different world but I may sound naive but in 2 years time we will be those money rich all conquering clubs that poaches players left right n centre… Can’t wait to be that douchebag, cause it wouldn’t b from a sugar daddy but through hardworking and planning…

  • Sufian

    *for not using ur insult-bag.
    If u have not forgotten, Enough now!, I have my criticism of Wenger with the treatment of players such as Chamakh (who was turned a zero from hero when RVP came back from injury). Then he kept on playing Arshavin out of position for a long time and when he had lost the magic last season due to lethargic and unaware LBs last season, he lost his place. Even when he did so well when he came on for injured Gervinho, he never was given any more chance. And few more players could be listed but they r not in current squad.

    Never said Wenger never made a mistake but I guess one can not simply reason with Abrahomic. Sack Wenger like how Chelsea has done over the years or like Liverpool sacking Dalgish? I bet u were willing to let RVP go just like Mofaz. Never use ur own head, rely on the media reports only.
