• Tieneich

    Done

What are the fans at the emirates gonna sing the next time?

  • Leigh

So how many of you now are going stand by the team (Wenger) We are screwed for this season ?

  • dubbledubs71

    whats the excuse this time?

  • MrBojangles

now sell Walcott. And probably Wilshere as well is developed enough to be sold. Then the great master plan of Wenger is complete!

  • USGunner

    Holy crap! No excuse, AW

  • Ofebs

The team is not good enough to compete for top four. This is the worst performance I have ever watched in the last twenty years of watching Arsenal. No pace, no running of the ball, no ability to hold the ball, no good passes, no craftiness or guile with the ball.

What a great and wonderful defeat…

  • enough now!

Sorry ! we want our Arsenal back. Wenger has to go. He has been foolling us for more than 7 years. He may find else where a job that suits his minimalism thinking. We have now money to build a new team with a new manager.

  • mofaz

Arsenal was on song …why on earth take off Wilshire and replace with Rosicky who gave away the ball so cheaply ! Swansea teaches Arsenal how to play the passing game ..Arsene has lost the plot ..and some fans still blame the results on Bad Luck!

  • Leigh

Wenger has got to go Im sorry

  • enough now!

This has to happen to wake up into reality.

  • dubbledubs71

anyone wanna buy an arsenal parachute?

  • mofaz

The only reason the scoreline was 0-2 was because of Scezny or else its 0-4 or worst..Walcott making a wise decision to abandon ship, its a rudderless ship run by a deluded captain and owned by a group of very greedy owners ..

  • mofaz

“Its the cold weather making the players go numb in the head” lamented Arsene in the after match press conference..

  • Tieneich

Only wish that “not making the champions league” brings wake up calls for those greedy owners. They will try harder not to sink the brand of Arsenal into the bottom. We’ll see how they do it.

  • mofaz

and Arsene is going for a Crystal Palace striker in the January transfer window !!

  • Drx

    Game Over.

  • mofaz

We are witnessing the beginning of the end of the Arsene era at Arsenal. The team against Swansea was supposed to be the strongest side and playing at home. Unbelievable ..

  • Sufian

I’ve learnt that if things are not working out, you change the approach. So far Arshavin hasn’t been allowed to play, despite him saving us blushes against QPR and then ManU (a move ending with a goal) and almost did it again against Fulham (earned a penalty).
If it’s time for Wenger to go then surely a time for Arsenal to go to Championship. No manager can do what he has with so so limited resources. I’d be surprised if somebody can name one, Big Sam maybe?

It’s time for board to be sacked!

  • Ofebs

The club must dramatically change trajectory…

    Either Peter Hill-Wood resigns or…
    Ivan Gazidis resigns or…
    Arsene Wenger gets the sack.

The club must change trajectory immediately.

  • Ofebs

There should be no more buying of untested or B-list players. Its time to fight for and buy top of the range performers.

  • Sufian

It’s time when top players will think about joining Arsenal, or they sign short-term deals (1 or 2 years at max) and looking to revive their careers.

  • Ken Marshall

    @ Sufian

His resources havent been that limited! We have the 4th highest wage bill in the premier league.
And we can afford that because we charge the highest tickets and I think have the highest matchday income in the premier league!
Yes wenger has done good things but he is not flawless and he has lost his touch it does happen all things come to an end.
The guy has never been great with tactics and i am fine with him staying as director/advisor of football and coaching.
No longer should he remain at the helm.
Who can man manage better? i would say managers like bergkamp, hiddink, moyes, even laudrup given the time have you seen the way he got swansea playing on a fraction of our budget?
Wenger cant even spot the bargain buys anymore. We buy gIROUD 12 MIL, Swansea buy Michu for 2MIL. cASE cLOSED

  • mofaz

@Sufian smell the coffee ..Arshavin is on the way out in fact he’s in the queue right in front of Walcott..

  • Sufian

@Ken Marshall, wage bill is high because we are a feeder club. Who would buy players who are not good enough to have healthy pay at Arsenal?

I don’t believe he’s flawless. Not giving chances to players who can create something out of nothing is nothing less than craziness. Had there been Arshavin, he would have done something. Rosicky has just come back and doesn’t look like himself and definitely needs time.

The signing fee issue is due to absence of David Dein, as many people have already pointed out on the internet.

@Mofaz, yes he better leave. He deserves to play for a title winning team and not us.

  • enough now!

What is this fucking Sufian talking about? Instead of facing the reality that the whole building has cracks,he talks about one dirty room inside.

  • IcjGunner

these are dark times at the emirates, but keep your heads up. At the end of the day, none of us can really do anything to influence the decisions of the board and Wenger, so stop freaking out. There’s only two options and bitching isn’t one of them: don’t buy any paraphernalia, don’t go the live matches.

I think it’s healthy to be realistic about the situation but not to the point of making hyperbolic and sweeping generalizations regarding nuanced and complex issues wihtin the club.

    Heads up, COYG :)

  • Sufian

@enough now!, look kid, no place for manure fanboys.
@IcjGunner. probably right but it hurts. Why do some of the things not get fixed? If we hadn’t been hopeful, we’d stopped watching the game. :P

  • dubbledubs71

i think wenger as run out of ideas, hes tried everything & it hasnt worked & we have been very patient waiting for the big pay off, but the policy of selling top players mostly to rivals has scuppered any chance to build a winning team. a lot has changed since he joined arsenal, he brought a fresh new philosophy & style of play & was shrewd in he transfer market, but there has been more turkeys than gems recently. david dein is gone too. but its a money game now and arsenal cant compete with the bigshots. we need mourihno, surely his wage demands cant be much more than wenger is getting, he would attract top players and might shake the board out of their slumber. the headless chicken syndrome is seeping from the top down. so waddya say madrid? wenger n djourou for jose, straight-ish swap

  • mofaz

@Sufian to criticize Arsenal as a fan who loves the club and upset seeing what’s happening on the field and the star players being sold one by one to highest bidder for profit does not make one turn into a Mannure fan..

  • Sufian

    @Mofaz, to insult is Manure.
@dubbledubs71, probably yes (Wenger running out of ideas) but no way this board will ever bring anyone else in place of Wenger (not that I am in favour of).

  • mofaz

Arsene will bring back TH on loan just to keep the fans distracted like last season..January transfer window, Walcott, Arshavin and Chamakh will be off. Not If but when Carzola or Wilshire gets injured then Arsenal will be in deep trouble …

  • a.k.a gunner

    @Sufian

I don’t think Arshavin can be Arsenal’s messiah. I am a great fan of him and he has turned around many games for us this season. And I sincerely hope that he be given more chances at the club. But the fact is that he is not the same player that we signed in 2009. He has lost his touch. We need better, top top players and that would mean raising the wage cap, which I don’t think will happen in the near future because of the greedy mindedness of the board.

I think Wenger will walk out the day the board asks him to take a pay cut or when he is not given a better deal.

Until then we have to live on with this. Frustrating.

  • kalone

    Not surprised.

  • Sufian

@a.k.a gunner, if you play any player out-of-position you can’t judge him. He’s not a winger and we played him there a lot and then he had to cover up for the shacky LBs last season and it probably took a lot of his energy which ended up him being not being the same player. If you don’t believe then watch him play for Russia where he plays in his natural position. Moreover, when he was having a bad patch and Wenger put him as a support behind Young (Carling Cup last season) he did well. I’ll be interested to see Messi play as a DM and then see what people say about his performance.

  • mofaz

Remember last season there was a player that saved Arsenal and got Arsenal into 3rd..this season no RVP, no CL..

  • Sufian

Remember when Arsenal was struggling in season 08/09, they bought Arshavin which saved them blushes? It might be a similar thing again. It’s just sad.

  • jellykid

i am dissapointed about the loss and the sight of the game made me worried BUT… what i’m reading here is like WTF? LOL

MOFAZ your a cunt seriously! your the only guy here with the most negativity!!! OMFG you keeping commenting on the downfalls like every fucking comment of yours is soo negative an unheard of.

ARE U A MANU FAN SERIOUSLY??? if not STFU and stop crying.

WE all panic and have negative comments and we’re entitled to that but why are u commenting so much hate on the team you support. I am worried and dissapointed but your negativity is like off the charts of stupidity.

when arsenal do win I never see your dumb comments but once they go on a slop its like a hatefull chimp has been unleashed and cant stop commenting about soo much hate lol

  • jellykid

BTW my point is you should chill out, everyones dissapointed about the loss if you truly support arsenal you wanna see immediate response the next game. but what your saying in every comment is soo STUPID.

  • jellykid

I feel, this forum is about Arsenal not just individual players ambitions, if you think your player should leave for trophies fine w/e… but what we’re supposed to believe and hope for is our team winning trophies and if you really think thats impossible and pointless to even try to believe in it, then why come to this forum, you can just follow the team on tv or something. why follow the team in the first place.

why comment your opinions if you don’t regard the team important or highly. Aren’t you just wasting your time because u don’t care about the team. Not trying change or hate someone on this forum BUT saying some realistic sense here.

The idea of all of us being entitled to our opinions come to a certain extent on what isn’t needed to be heard. Everyone gets angry when arsenal loses, that’s being a fan. Immediate change is something every one desires if nothing is working, but how fast is immediate change?…transfer window is in JANUARY, we have one whole month. You gotta stick to the team no matter what.

I know everyone cares about this team because you comment here after every game to show how u feel. Not trying to point at anyone. Maybe we should really stick with this team. It can get even worse if you think even more negative.

  • Sufian

I’m looking forward to Wenger knowing and learning from his mistakes than Arsenal making quick improvement. He said the team had a jaded performance and I’m surprised if he really thinks that way because the depth of current squad is much more than season 08/09.
Arteta is not given freedom to do what he does best and playing Santi so much is going to backfire I’m afraid. Player rotation, if any, is nearly missing.

  • http://gnosradamus.com Gnostradamus

Anyone who can’t spot the crisis is deluded and gullible to the extreme. Sorry to hear anyone having a heart attack, but I guess it’s another sign the board needs to be completely revamped.

  • jellykid

hmm crisis?… when you lose the season and then don’t qualify for champions league… that’s a crisis.

not having your good performance consistently played isn’t a crisis but period of time during the season where we need to work on our results.

  • Reza

I have always loved AW, but deeply sorry, I think it’s time to move on. I haven’t seen an Arsenal team as hapless as this one. In the past, we could still enjoy a brillinat football even if we lost. This team is an absolute disgrace, we lose and we’re horrible. We deserve to lose and that’s painful.
Why not changing the tactic when one is not working. Why not playing two center forward (4-4-2). Play a two-striker combination between Theo, Podolski and Giroud (that’s all we have!). Is Gervinho a centreforward? He’s not even good to play as a winger, he’s totally useless. Oxo’s talent’s been watsed on the flanks. Why not playing him in the middle. Wilshere and Arteta are similiar players, what’s the point of playing them together. Gibbs is always out of position, he’s not Ashely Cole. His defending is so bad the team is always on the back foot. This team is so unbalanced. The player are good (some top talent) but the system of our play is to blame. Our defenders are not fighters. Look at first Swansea’s goal. They all gave up no one bothered chasing Michu.
We have to get rid of deadwood (Ramsey, Rosicki, Chamakh, Denilson,Park,Gervinho, Djourou … Gee it’s a long list!!!) and bring in some decent tested players and also fresh ideas. If AW can change, more than happy otherwise …

  • jellykid

Have you ever played FIFA games? like the current one FIFA 13??

4-4-2 formation is weak!! a 4-3-3 can over take a normal 4-4-2 fomation easily in the middle of the park. 4-4-2 is only dominant on the wings not in the middle. Btw you don’t get a lot out of your strikers in 4-4-2 instead in 4-3-3 you have 3 strikers in front while playing wing you can have them all in the middle and attack with the fullbacks.

4-3-3 benefits the midfield so much!! the only good 4-4-2 is a very defensive one. playing with ONE STRIKER only and a midfielder playing as a false number 9 and drifting back in the midfield also for defensive purposes.

the most boring way for a football game by clearly playing defensive until you get a minor chance from corners or crosses from you wings.4-3-3….

real Madrid, Barca, THE GERMAN NATIONAL TEAM!!

why do you think the best teams in the world play

  • Reza

    @jellykid
    Hi mate,

4-3-3 or 4-4-2 or whatever! My point is we need to change the way we play. It’s AW’s job to find out. I don’t think I can be as good as him just by playing computer games. We have been undone by every single coach in the league. Now they know how to neutrelize us. It’s a pity because we loved the way Arsenal played but the game has changed. This team does not have the same level of creativity or pace. Still good player but are not played properly. What happens if Theo leaves? Who else has got his pace and trickery? You can get best of Theo or Oxo if you play them centrally. We don’t play direct, we are always playing outwide, useless lateral passes. We don’t have specialist wingers, we are wasting our best talents on the flanks and Arsene does not seem to change this. I am no Arsene hater. I love the man. He was the reason I became an Arsenal fan and I still hope he can get this mess.

    Cheers,

  • made

In such an extreme ‘luck’, Arsenal could suddenly put themselves in 3rd position in the next 2 mathces with their advantage in goals differences. Maybe sounds so unlikely, but halfway is still 4 matches away. I hope Arsenal could manage better games and will not give away such a what-should-be easy one to get a grip, at least, in top four on the half of season.

I do agree that Arsenal should change their playing style a little bit. We could really see that Everton read Arsenal’s tactic very well last week. Defensive scheme must be improved, since opponents still could easily make a through ball to their middle forward. A possesive play would be better if it is an effective possesion. They gave away too many easy ball while did the pass while didn’t get any chance to get a shot. Giroud and Chamakh actually ideal strikers. They just should left out from the passing scheme, since their task is to score more than setting up. That what Henry did, and their last striker after him did.

I know this team have potential and actually IS a contender for the title. They just need to get their confidence back and KEEP IT!

  • a.k.a gunner

    @made

you made a good point there… that we are not a far away from 3rd/4th place. 2 or 3 wins can turn things around. But this is due to our rivals’ incompetency and not because of our merit. So we are very much the same as West Brom/Spurs/Everton. It is a scramble out there and it will be interesting to see who finally makes the cut. 4th place is no longer a guarantee…

Regarding Arsenal being a title contender… No definitely not bro.. If things are going like this, I don’t think we will be one in the near future.

  • mofaz

If what we are seeing is not considered a “crisis” then god helps us if or when we actually in “crisis” …

  • mofaz

Arsenal will be extremely lucky to finish top 6 ..hope next season will miss the European leagues all together so that the board will finally pull their head out of their asses and realized that other teams in the PL have improved while Arsenal is stagnant …

  • jellykid

im starting to wonder if you really are some manure fan trolling on this forum lol… your comments are just really weird…

  • Tieneich

Which is worse for the team? Blind support or constant bashing?

All I know is, booing from the home and away fans didn’t start just Sunday. Frustration is running high in lot of gooners, and the roars need to get responses. Responses not just from players, but the managers at all levels, too. Our goal is set to be the 4th place. Why? Because Arsene knows. He knows that’s what we are getting with this squad. Can we do better? Maybe. Do we “deserve” the 4th? No! We have to fight for it.

Haven’t they thought about getting a better sqaud, play for CL title and PL title for better profit? Have they become so short-sighted? For what they have eared from us fans, they owe us more than just explanation but action.

  • mofaz

As long as Arsene and the Board achieve their usual target of top four finish..Arsenal will never win a single trophy, not even the league cup let alone CL or even FA cup .. forget about winning the league because the mind set of the management trickles down to every player ..top 4 is good enough. Finishing out side the top 4 or even missing european football all together maybe the wake-up call Arsenal needs ..

  • mofaz

Worse of all this “top four our target” has completely brainwashed some fans as well ..as evident from the posts on this forum..

  • Arschloch

    @Mofas
Yeah , bro ……you are right. We habe habe many dreamers on the board.

  • Sufian

@Tieneich, can’t agree more and that is what I have been thinking (and maybe said it here as well). But the plain fact is, these business people have no brain. They are greedy people and it’s just difficult for them to think about tomorrow. Few years ago Arshavin said we need 2 or 3 top players to compete for title, today is still the same (or worse). Spend money wisely…but how can we spend? It just looks like governments that we had a change of face in silent Kroenke and now nothing changed (as in positive one).

  • enough now!

This guuy has a love story with Arshavin. He has to follow him and suck his dick during the cold winter of Petersbourg. He should admit that Arshavin had no impact on the game yesterday. Such stupid supporters make it even worse. Support is due to a club and not individuals. Arshavin was alway complaining about London, taxes, the weather,…., never mind those are personal views, but he has been struggling since many years. I wished he could get his form again. Now it over, how long are going to wait for some players to recover, bounce back, or for a manager who has lost the plot ??

  • mofaz

@Sufian..Lets look at Arshavin’s situation ..he could have submitted a transfer request back to his old club, in fact his old club wanted him back, If his priority is to play football instead of sitting on the bench. He’s not getting younger, his career as Russian player and captain is as good as over, but on the positive side he is on a good running contract with Arsenal, he was the record buy by Arsene and enjoy one of the highest wage at Arsenal. He is not getting a new contract at Arsenal so he just waits for the contract to run out and enjoy the wages..

  • Sufian

@Mofaz, when he signed for Arsenal, Barca were interested in him. This alone blows your whole theory off.
@”enough now!”, sorry dude, if you can’t stand the truth you may just not comment. If I say RVP has class and you don’t like, just don’t act like ManU fans, okay? I hope I got my point across through your thick skull.

  • mofaz

@Sufian, you seemed to be living in the past, Arshavin was a hot item back when Arsene signed him up and his goals against Liverpool proved it..but that was back then, we are talking about the present and the future..and Arsenal fans do have the right to criticize the team when they are playing badly..to criticize means we care and worry about the path the club is going and might finally end up ..

  • Sufian

@Mofaz, quote me where I said criticism is completely wrong? Yes I did say that it should be done in a constructive way. Ever heard Ferguson say his ManU players are rubbish? Yet, he does criticize them time to time.
Secondly, Barca were even interested in him at the end of 2010/11 season, meaning if money was what his motives were he would have left it them. First team appearances may have suffered but his bank balance would have grown at twice the rate. Think about it.

  • Sufian

As Tieneich was comparing 2 extremes (blind support or constant bashing), you should do it wisely. Summers are generally good for it, but sadly fans were too busy bashing RVP than the board or Wenger, because at the end of the day it’s the club and management who takes decisions and not players.

  • Arschloch

Bashing RVP ? I don’ t know what you are talking about. I saw his last game vs Köln. The fans booed him, because clearly he was not in the mood, nevertheless he went over to them and threw his shirt. In the last Emirates games no one booed him at all, so I wonder how you fancy these stories.

  • Sufian

@Arschloch, the internet fans I meant. All Arsenal blogs were filled with such hateful comments. And even if some player didn’t want to leave, he would have considered his options anyway. Not justifying his leaving the club, so hopefully aimless bashers won’t have a problem with that. Not referring to you Arschloch ;)
