thats comedy of error by useless torress(torress whiff)
….good work by gervinho..
Koscielny seems to be making quite a few errors lately despite that precious goal. Maybe he needs a little break.
we’re extremely unlucky….
I don’t really know what to say. It beats me to death watching rodays match. everything and everybody is BIG ERRORS. Unbeaten run is over
still only 6 games…we have to work really hard.carzola had a bad day.giroud needs to work more hard as striker, cech has between our win.
I know he had a decent showing recently but Ramsey for me, just doesn’t cut it except for occasionally showing some resiliance in winning the ball. Poor decisions, sloppy passes, horrible shooting…
Also, its clear to me that podolski excels on the left more than as a CF…anyone else?
starting for me would have been:
Gerhvino
Podolski Walcott
Diaby
Arteta Cazorla
Gibbs Mert Vermalean Jenkinson
Giroud should have score…I think we need proven striker in EPL.
ya i think podolski needs to play on the left. and i would have put mert instead of kos today.
Unlucky and look a little bit indecisive. Late in the second half was careless and sloppy at times. The season is long. We’ll get them the next time. I was a full revenge against them.
By the way, can someone tell me what happened to Per.
Why wasn’t our best defender fielded when we were facing the top team in the PL? What’s the deal? He didn’t do anything wrong to get benched.
@Tieneich
Per has been great this season but I think Wenger didn’t want to chance him in 1 on 1 situations against Torres, Hazard, and Oscar. While good in the air and very intelligent Per still isn’t the best man to man defender (basically because he’s giant beanpole).
Bad result overall but I don’t understand why everyone thinks Chelsea played well and we were shit. They never really threatened us from open play and but for a couple of good saves from Cech and another miss from Giroud things could of been different. Come on you Gunners!!!
@MastaB After dominating Aguero, Silva, and Dzeko, I don’t think Hazard, Oscar, and Torres would be much of a problem. Besides, Oscar and Hazard would be mostly dealt with by the fullbacks with the helps from our midfielders and wingers. It’s even funnier to see you saying how Per is better in the air rather then on the ground. Have you been watching the same Arsenal team as we are? Per is very good at interception and positioning. He is also a better tackler than air battler. He does improve more in the air this season, but he has been better on the ground for us. Also, we conceded twice in set pieces.
Chelsea WASTED a several chances in the area in the second half (also Gibbs and Arteta dealt with the wing plays pretty well). Where does the “NEVER threatened us” come from? Are you even watching the game?
It’s a long season, and it’s only a loss. I am just wondering about why our best defender of the season has been dropped for whatever reason. Your argument would be valid if Per fared horribly against City. However he didn’t, which makes the argument completely irrelevant.
Bad day 4 us , my opinion of the game is that both teams weren’t good overall .For them they were gifted by 2 presents(the 2 goals)one in the 1st half where the only time i felt a team would score was the last 5 minutes after we scored , the 1st half was just good recoveries & useless possession for both teams. The second half we started so well , cazorla skied 1 couple of chances which he should have passed or controlled first ,then we conceded & they tried to defend & play on counters (without arteta we would have conceded more). for the last 30 minutes just 2 real chances (gr8 save from cech & Giroud’s miss which was due to the big pressure on him) we missed Diaby in this time.
Per didnt play because AW was afraid from conceding from open play , he is good one on one,but so slow compared to their attack but we were really bad in the set pieces which made us concede.
We handed them 3 points , so lets just focus on the next 2 games then we will have 2 weeks on Internationals from 6 to 20 Oct so hopefully all the injuries will be available or just needs match fitness , October is an easier month so lets hope for the best COYG
I agree with tieneich…. I rather have per playing, he provides such balance in the back four in our team for some reason. Kosicielny is still a boss to me no matter what but Per should have played.
I thought the biggest mistake was taking ramsey off. The only midfielder besides cazorla who can create chances. AOC isn’t up there yet.
Arsenal was unlucky ,soft goals from set play, Arsenal’s goal came from open play. Mannone inexperience was exposed, Szcesny would have came out and punched the ball away..but great goal by Gervinho..as for the center forward wannabe Walcott .. he’s just not worth 100k a week..
I think we need a combination of no nonsense CB (Mertasacker) and a ball playing CB (Kos, Verm). This way the defence becomes more stable and difficult to break (like at Man City).
Also, Diaby provided excellent stability to midfield and the defence to attack transition. You could see when Diaby left the pitch, Arteta had to do a lot of work and it became little harder to defend. Maybe Frimpong can make a good backup for Diaby (if he can overcome his anger).
@mofaz, Szczesny hadn’t played too well either, lately. Mannone is inexperienced, correct, but he’s playing better than Szczesny in his current form.
Arsenal will rue those dropped points. Chelsea are not so strong as they seem to be.I just wonder what kind of experimental football we are practising at this level. We put in a striker from a lower league and wait for him to evolve. i don´t know much about Giroud but he had repeatedly three precious chances under concomitant circumstance and the oucome just awful. Why not putting in a proven PL player much better than Gervinoh, for instance Wallcot could fit in much better, at least he may have the chance to prove that he deserves it. The Chelsea game could have been won very easily but the fighting spirit was by no means there. From the very first second of the second half Chelsea looked loosing composure and our team just lost the balls on a very silly manner. just compare that to the fighting spirit of MANU although lost the game vs spuds. I must say it was very disgusting and disappointg. Iam sure Wenger will sort this out and find a solution. We had a good run and may beginn another one, hopfully it is not going to end against a title contender.
@ Tieneich
agree with 100% concerning Per. Hazard, Osca & Co. could be big stars but scare no more than Aguiru, Balloteli, Tevez & Co. That does not mean Coscienly shouldn´t have started. It was a game to forget for him out of one big mistake but he was great. You must take care whenever Torres behind you rather than in front of you, may be no care when he is in front of you.
@jellykid
True. And I feel Poldi could have stayed a little longer, too. He was really quiet in the first half, but created a several good runs in the second.
Yea I thought Podolski should finished the game on the field. I really want to see a 4-2-3-1 with poldi on the left with Giroud up front and gervinho on the right or someone else on the right. with obviously cazorla playing CAM.
I thought with Giroud on field with podolski would be really interesting to watch. I think the reason podolski was quiet because he never really got the ball a lot. It was weird to watch but at times we relied going forward through the right a lot. Gibbs barely gave him the ball and since Ramsey was on the right side of the field we where somewhat going through the right A LOT more.
I still prefer Giroud up front, this talk about him not scoring is get overly hyped by media since RVP’s departure. He still plays so well up front. I feel he just need more services. YES he has missed game winning chances but I feel the guy should still play up front. What gives me confidence in him playing front is his runs and link up play.
we played well and we lost…
what’s making me happy is thierry screwed toronto fc in mls with 3 assists and a sensational goal…..here’s the link

@ Jellykid
No kidding. Some followers and media gave Giroud to 8 games to settle in, which is ridiculous. He’s got the movement, aerial battle skills, and good vision. Finishing touch will come. I remember Cesc had a goal drought in 07-08 season and people were getting impatient. That period will pass and Giroud will come good. I rather have a slow starter than someone who scores a lot in the first 3 months and then faded for the next 2 years.
Poldi does play very well with Giroud up front. The movement have him more space to operate. Also Poldi plays a lot better when Diaby is on the field, too.
You know Arsenal don’t believe in themselves when..everybody was happy after City draw while they should have regretted not having won.
Arsenal will not succeed unless they BELIEVE they will.
When you read some declarations, you wonder if it’s Arsenal or some team used to battle to stay in mid talbe.
Just saying..
How does Chelsea get so lucky?
