  1. Ashwin says:

I think we’ve proven we’re real title contenders this year sans the squad depth.

  2. Ken Marshall says:

Yeah really glad we got the point… but MAN Gervinho made so angry today!!!
I also think we drew DESPITE wenger subs, not because.
Would never have taken off Podolski. Gervinho off for Giroud. Walcott did NOTHING.

Gervinho wasted so many good chances is unbelievable. I knew he wasnt gonna score after that miss in 1st half. The guy is a pussy.
2-1 was ours and we lost it I just cant bear to see gervinho anymore

Commentator is right as well why oh why do we get 6 ft 4 striker… and not play any crosses to his head???!?!?!! the mind boggles really.

  3. Tieneich says:

1 pt from Etihad. Better than last year :)

    We are still unbeaten.

    Good.

but, we would have won this game by large…

  4. Gnostradamus says:

Agreed, why does Wenger consistently fail to make the changes that are so obviously needed? If he was disappointed with Gervinho why did he wait till practically the last kick to sub him off? I didn’t know Walcott was on the field, such was his anonimity.

This was a game to be won.

  5. walcott says:

Everyone knows i hate gervinho! but cut him a slack

Gervinho was inform before this game. Arsene wenger will not risk subbing him early to dip his form. Today is not for him and we already know that this guy has really improved and shows us what he can do when arsene put faiths in him.

  6. Wonderful work! This is the kind of info that are supposed to be shared around the net. Shame on the search engines for no longer positioning this post higher! Come on over and consult with my web site . Thanks =)

  7. Carles says:

Can you upload Gerv’s last miss please?

    Cheers

  8. Martian says:

lets stop talking about Gervinho and talk about Mertesacker! The amount of interception he made for us in the middle was crazy.

He was big today, literally and defensively

  9. goutham says:

if u ever ask mancini which is the team he fears most…..
he wud say ar….ohh wait everybody knows….we shud have nailed them today
still we were spectacular in the match….hope we face our biggest rival manure in this kind of form

  10. Tieneich says:

Yeah, Mert was amazing. Interceptions and aerial battles were in his pocket. So great.

  11. Koolio says:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Because blog commentors have more than 30 years of experience in managing clubs at top level in football.

  12. Hersh says:

I think, as arsenal fans, we should put more faith in our players. They play under a lot of pressure. Mertesacker was fantastic. Due credit to him. Gervinho was not at his best but he is definitely an amazing player. More to come from him for sure. Matter of time before Giroud starts slotting goals for us. Podolski’s performance was consistent. Mannone was very impressive. Santi was super awesome, as usual. Dissappointed with walcott- his class is deteriorating. Hope he can improve soon. Not very impressed with diaby’s performance. Expected more from him. All in all, a fair result, although, I feel we could have won this one.

  13. Arschloch says:

The hollowness of some haters forced me to refrain from writing. This game was the answer to some of them. Ramsey proved his talent and mature. Gervihno lost two valuable chances but his liveliness was the reason why citiy´s full back never could move forward on the side where he appeared and for this reason he played the whole game. Some who mocked Per have to eat their words now, and I can remember someone said he didn´t like Podolski, now he write sweet songs about him. Some are really hypocrites. Regards to the true gunners.

  14. Ashwin says:

I think Mertesacker really showed class today, his game is not based on speed, but on intelligence and today was the best advertisement of that. I know everyone’s going on and on about our zonal marking on corners, and that running jump will always beat the standing jump. That may be true, but not if the keeper is out early and the “hot” spots are crowded out..but then again all said and done, we did concede a ridiculously needless goal today.

Our defensive discipline is just amazing..minute someone goes out of position, someone notes that and just slots right in there, and maintains the 4-4-2 when we don’t have the ball..brilliant!

podolski and gervinho should be rested, I’d predicted this for some time. But it was their effort that pinned back their full-backs.

Ramsey, by jove what a game he’s had. JENKINSON!! Gibbs if he works on his crossing is quite possibly ashley cole reborn.

This side, can challenge for trophies, if it remains injury free until rosicky and wilshere are back.

Imagine, Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshere(after he regains form). Mouthwatering no?

  15. gooner says:

guys don’t blame gervinho. if wenger took gervinho off for giroud, we wouldn’t put man city under pressure for the last 10 mins. during that time, gervinho was the only one who charged at their defense and made them shaky and nervous. without him i don’t think we would have got the momemtum to attack and equalise.

    STILL UNBEATEN!!!!! KEEP GOING ARSENAL!!!

  16. gooner india says:

we could have won, but we were losing yet managed to get a point. This is no random team, they were champions last season. Before the game they played some clips showing City’s attacking prowess and our defense. Arsenal can always score it was only our defense that was a real let down.
Ya gervinho missed lot of chances. He just needs to compose himsel. Its like he is always rushing and ends up skewing his opportunities. But what about Jenkinson. Same tym last season he was really taken apart by ManU but he has improved vastly. He kept Raheem Sterling in check. And was real awesome this game too. Suddenly we are a mean machine, just hope we keep this up. The players we have along with the ones on the bench and ones to come back from their injury we have a definite shout for the championship. COYG!!

  17. jellykid says:

It was a good game to watch. I understand why Ramsey slotted on the right wing, but in the second half is it me or did any of you suggested also that Giroud should have came on and podolski should have slotted to the left while gervinho should have went right or come off for AOC. It would have created more space for podolski and cazorla to move around. Ramsey had a good game but I believe our tactics was somewhat weird to apprehend at times.

I honestly believe we should have dominated this game. If not dominate, we could have scored 3 times. I felt Giroud should start as our center forward more. He’s just really good up front, the only thing is he barely gets services up front. Gibbs is amazing but we all know he HAS to work on his crossing. Jenkinson is probably the best crosser on our team. he was great today.

I guess in the end of the day AW wanted a stronger midfield to assure the team held counter attacks as well. So thats why he didn’t play a very attacking front. which was frustrating but understandable. Well Gervinho is good, and I’ll be honest I was angry at the first touch to but to me he isn’t really a central striker. His composure front of goal is really bad in certain angles sometimes. I felt diaby didn’t play his usual game, I felt he wanted to display more skills than actually assure the midfield lol…yaya toure probably riled him up..i unno..

We deserved a goal, glad got it and a point… but I truly believe we had every right to win this game more than Mancity. Our midfield wasn’t even at its best today.

  18. salute2highbury says:

Good game! Any chance you can upload Koscielny’s bit of skill in the second half?

  19. arshavin says:

    download?

  20. Gnostradamus says:

Ugh, never get to the MOTDs before they get pulled.

  21. gooner says:

arsenal is a real good team now. LET’S WIN AT CHELSEA NOW!!! COME ON ARSENAL!!

  22. yann says:

guys the issue about gervinho isn’t so much in the missed chances but his style of play. he waits too long to release and keeps compressing and compressing and compressing the opposition defence by dribbling in. this closes down the space for all the other arsenal attackers who are more comfortable when they have the space to get in closer and slot in the goal.

of course the exception to this is cazorla (and vermaelen) who take those shots from a third of the pitch away, which I am very happy to see.
