Steve Bould Interview :: Podolski and Vermaelen Interview
Solid display, i think giroud is really good for the squad he is a really good jumper end good passer, but i would love to see him more on the ball as we havent seen much, its obviously taking time for strikers to settle, so i wont give up on him. Podolsky is on the fly as well as gervinho and diaby. Overall i think the weakest link was jenkinson going forward but at least hes good in defending. Cazorla looked a little tired but still managed to have a solid game. Vermaelens challenge was to impatient i think hope he learns from that but other then that he was solid. Arteta also had a good game fighting extreamly hard.
So well done to hold up in second half maybe the tiredness was in our feet from international brake and from the game at southampton. I hope we take a little rest till the man city game.
Still havent lost a game so lets keep it that way.
Arsenal for life!
peace
Shity penalty great result
City lost so that might be a good thing for the weekend. Just get some rest now
Am I the only one worried that our second half was ridiculously poor?
Ashwin,
It’s OKAY after a short rest. Montpellier, even though struggling, is still the French Champ. They played like this last season to win Ligue 1. I did think that fresh legs were brought up a bit late to relief Diaby and Cazorla.
Good thing is we aren’t playing Citeh until Sunday. Perfect time to rest. Wenger/Bould is right not to rest some players for this game.
guys trust in giroud.
for podo’s goal, he was the one who assited it so…..
good win…. but i still see some poor defnding….
lucky for us no goals came out of those…
Arsenal for life
a few defensive blunders in this game. hope they can correct it before the next.

The rest and everything is all fine. I’m talking about some gross defending errors that are creeping back into our game. So the defending as a team has improved..but im worried about the individual defending. Look at diaby today for instances. 3-4 times he made unforced/unneccesary challenges or dribbles. It was a penalty that 90th minute clanger by diaby. Think about it, if that was given on another day, then we’d be saying back to arsenal not holding on to their lead due to terrible defending. Look at the penalty today for instance.
At the end of the day we’re going to concede goals, but i’ll take it if it were because of excellent play from the other side, and not calamitous defending.
I hear bould does video reviews after every game, which is really new for wenger and arsenal..hope they can catch all the bullshit that went on in the second half.
but giroud’s movement is near perfect I’d say..
Agreed Ashwin. The way Montpellier dominated the second half was more complete than our domination of the first and they will count themselves extremely unlucky. Their domination was due to our fatigue and especially Diaby was culpable on several occasions. I was screaming in my head for Diaby to be replaced during the match since the poor guy was trying but was too tired. Lucky win for us there. Lets not make the smae mistake twice.
This Arsenal team has a different feel to them. Hope that translates to different end of season results. R.I.P R.V.P
@ Ashwin
Agreed. Individually we were exposed quite a few times. I don’t want to count them, but we saw them on Diaby, Coquelin, Vermaelaan, Mert and others. Whether the cause of errors was fatigue, lack of concentration, or because the opponent was too good, we have to find a way to minimize it in order to be at top.
We probably have seen the worst of our 1on1 defending though. I didn’t recall. Verm, Diaby, even Arteta committed quite a few lazy challenges.
Giroud will be our star player, it is just a matter of time, i can’t wait to see the league cup (capital one cup) i want to see chamackh and arshavin play again. this week something in my head came, and it was that arshavin as a false 9 will be a beast and chamackh as st will be a beast too. think if these two and djouroue gets their form back, we can play 4-4-2,4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1.
our midfield is a real beast: coq, frimpo. jack, arteta, santi, gervi, podi, rambo, mozart, henderson, T.esfield, aneke, yenariss. all of these are capable of playing in epl.
defence. Vermaelen, per, bossney, djouroue, sagna, santos, gibbsy, jenko, all epl level
attackers: giroud, arshavin, walcott, chamackh, watt and if these players gets their forms, they are real beasts.
goalkeepers: no comment we got 3 world class players in Fabiansky, Mannone and Scesczeny.
to these who critisize players, you will never make a player better by booing him or calling them deadwoods. learn some respect, see hoe united fans are with their players, they never say negative and call them deadwoods. as long as a players is playing for arsenal, he is class.
eg: rambo, was booed, called deadwood and abused, but this year when we got players like santi, and podi with confidence, he has improved, defensivly, work rate, and all round play. so i am optimistic with all the others top players we have, who currently are under performing
REMEMBER 25 PLAYERS WIN YOU A LEAGUE NOT 11 PLAYERS. IF ALL ARE FIT, THERE WILL BE A HUGE COMPITITION AMONG THE SQUAD. WHICH MAKES EVERYONE A REAL WINNER.
