2 nil up at half time get in there guys

  2. badama says:

get Ramsey out of the damn game shittt

  3. Clinton Dawkins says:

Ramsey worries me. Arsenal seems to have lost another player from a leg break. We’ve got a world-class goalkeeper though.

  4. mobeen says:

We won… although we didn’t go for the jugular… The Pen was just world-class…

  5. Konvict says:

ramsey will get his form/confidence back. he showed he was doing well earlier in season- now just in bad form. hes young he will fulfill potential.

and to think we are 3rd in league basically back to challenging for 2nd without our 3 best midfielders this season with fab and nasri leaving and wilshere injured.

and yes rvp pen was world class- along with walcotts finish on 2nd goal. the more time he has to think the worse he does- instinct finishes are brilliant

  6. zee says:

    ramsey is a big joke..

  7. Mofaz says:

Why Arsene keeps favoring Ramsey ? Because he’s part of Arsene youth program like Walcott and OC ..please loan him out next season to Bolton , look what happened to wilshire , a run in the bolton will do him lots of good..

  8. KeepTheFaith says:

    Good afternoon everyone,

I’m still not convinced that it was a penalty… A lot of contact etc but I would rather have Walcott try and stay on his feet and finnish it! I’m probably annoying some people with that comment but hey, its my opinion! The only problem with staying on your feet, if you miss people will frown upon you (ask Ramsey)!

For me, the whole left side was screwed up! Benayoun kept staying inside (not wide) and Santos never looked like he wanted to get up field! Then for some reason Ramsey shifted wide (and Benayoun moved to the middel, even more) and all of a sudden we are playing with 4 in the midfield because Ramsey can’t stay wide and Benayoun kept drifting inside!

Anyway, next is Wigan, very important 3 points! It will be a very difficult game! At least it is at home! 5 points clear, with 5 to go! Since I’m an Engineer let me state the obvious: max points available – 15, since we are 5 a head and assuming NewCastle and Shitties win all their games. We need a minimum of 10 points to stay 3rd on goal difference. THUS we need at least 3 wins and 1 draw! We also play 3 more home games (if I’m not mistaken), so win all of them and we are in!

  9. Tieneich says:

Why do we keep playing Ramsey? Well, I think it’s a good idea to rest Rosicky for a mid-week game against the bottom team. Wolves aren’t Wigan, which has been playing at an amazing level.

I do agree with starting Ramsey and Benayoun on the left ruins a lot of things. Our left side was left all with Santos. It’s really strange. If Gervinho was not available, there was Ox to play the winger. Also, leaving RvP on the field after the third goal is beyond me. I think Park and Chamack can use some game time.

Good win. I was hoping for a draw between Citeh and West Brom, but that’s not happening. Oh well.

  10. inoue says:

@KeepTheFaith: Walcott ain’t Messi mate. His balance at speed is average at best and a lot of contact as you said will definitely throw him off balance.

Another valuable 3 points though. Utd and Spurs have lost to “lowly” opponents so there’s no game the team can take for granted and must be switched on always!

  11. TheArgsenal says:

I haven’t put my two cents in the pot in some time but from where I’m sitting a couple things look clear to me.

Number 1, Ramsey’s poor form at the moment is psychological and not technical. He has the ability and the heart (remember his goal at Shite Hart Lane) but a string of poor games has cost him mentally. I wouldn’t expect a big turn around until next season. The fact that he’s being asked to play wide also probably doesn’t help.

Number 2, Park and Chamack probably didn’t get any game time because I think their days at the Grove are numbered. Both good players on the day but for different reasons never became important parts of Arsene’s plans. I really hope they move to a club where the get the game time, for both their sake and for Arsenal’s. If the rumours are true, we could be welcoming another German international to North London this summer who could really make an impact anyway.

Number 3, What a season! I don’t want to count chickens before they’ve hatched but this has been one of the most amazing season’s to follow arsenal. Maybe because we started poorly and then got better as time progressed rather than challenging for the title all season and then falling apart during the business end but I would feel more pride in Arsenal’s 3rd place finish this year than any other of our trophy-less season’s since 2005.

    Onward to wigan! Forward!

  12. Koolio says:

Wenger out! Oh wait, we didnt lose at wolves.

  13. Tieneich says:

@ TheArgsenal, fully agree on NUMBER 1. Ramsey played better in the second half while deployed deeper. I know it’s too late, but perhaps he can really play behind Arteta, Rosicky, or Wilshere. That position is where he’s comfortable with. To do that though, he has to keep the possession better like Arteta currently does.

As for Number 2, it’s a shame that Chamakh and Park can’t work back into the team. I still remember the hard work and goals that Chamakh provided when he first joined us. We were cheering him on every game. Park had a top class finish as well. Wish them luck if they are to depart.

@ Koolio. lol, I know some people will never be satisfied. By the way, I am more worried about the Wigan game. Not because they have threatened Chelsea and beat ManUre. But because the ref incidents against them the last two matches. If refs are being unprofessional and decides to be beneficial to them, then we will really have a tough game.

Will FA ever punish Phil Dowd??

  14. me says:

arsenal were solid today, but without szceszney we would have conceeded 2 goals, which is worrying. we need to be more clinical, ramsey only scores when famous people die, so why play him? start the ox more. or use 2 striker with theo and rvp. let’s face it theo is a crap winger. can’t take players on even with his pace and he can’t cross, no final ball etc. but he has great finishing positioning and composure. If he doesn’t sign a contract I won’t cry because their are better players, but he understands arsenal well so we need to keep him. Ramsey is annoying though, I think i broke my knuckle punching the wall by seeing his performance (passion!).

  15. Arsenal#1 says:

Hey Arsenalist could you please repost the bbc motd highlights. Cheers and once again thanks for your fab website don’t know what i’d do with out you.

  16. Arschloch says:

You can´t compare Ramsey to Rosicky or even Ben Ayoun. Those tow have over 300 games under their belt not only in the EPL. They can perform better than Ramsey in every position, just recall Ben Ayoun long distance run to block Kolarov´s? shot. It takes Ramsey another 100 games to gain the determination of Ben Ayoun and some more years to become as calm as Rosicky.

  17. Big Dave says:

Do we really need a whipping boy to take the blame for everything that goes wrong? The team is playing well, 27 points our of 30 is an excellent run of form. Players need to be rested from time to time and younger players like Ramsey need to be bedded in. I’ll be worried about Ramsey if he stops getting into goalscoring positions! I do agree about Arteta. He’s the real team player. He’s the glue that’s stuck everyone else together. He’s the guy that covers Song’s charges forward, and you can see the effect on players around him. I think that he’s been Le Boss’s shrewdest buy for a long time.

  18. Sufian says:

@Mofaz, why Wenger played Ramsey today? Quite simple if you really think a little harder.
    1. Rosicky is injury prone.
    2. He needed a breather as well.
    3. Ramsey hasn’t played for some time.
    4. Rotating the team against not-so strong sides is a good idea to not mess up the season by gambling on players’ fitness.
    5. More important games ahead.

  19. Sufian says:

@Mofaz, also do not forget that Rosicky was in the subs, if he was not, you could have a tiny say on that but not a big say even then.

  20. mofaz says:

@Sufian, no such thing as “not so strong sides” in the premier league, Fulham, Swansea , Blackburn and QPR are the so called ” not so strong sides” and they beat Arsenal ..Ramsey should be loaned out like Wilshere and look how the loan spell has improved his overall performance ..

  21. Clinton Dawkins says:

Re: the comment about the left midfield going to the middle while Santos doesn’t go forward

Arsenal’s weakness these few seasons was in the back, not so much in the front. I would hope that Santos has the discipline to cover our defense when the midfielders leave him exposed.

  22. KeepTheFaith says:

@Clinton: I do agree, I remember last year (especially agains Barca at Barca) there was this huge discussion about Sanga and Glichy playing to high and leaving Djourou and Kosc exposed! So I do agree with you, however, looking at our game I feel we only went forward on the right and only a few times on the left! A little lopsided! With Gibbs (the last few games) we had the LB overlapping but with Santos we saw that ones or twice! Maybe it has to do with his lack of pace, when compared to Gibbs? Or was it a tactic (from the start, before the red) to keep it very tight and keep a clean sheet?

Gervinho likes playing out wide, on the line wide, and that gives us width! Unfortunately with Ramsey and BenAyoun (for some weird reason only agains Wolfs) we do not have that width! Also have a look at how many “over hit” crosses there were and if Benayoun stayed wide he might have picked up 1 or 2!

One thing I would also like to add, I don’t think Wenger still wants Chamak! My reason for this comment: going 3-0 up after 70 min he could have given Chamak a run but he didn’t! Instead he kept RvP on and risked an injury! Maybe I’m wrong, any comments?

PS it is good to be the team destroying dreams, dreams of 5th place (ask liverpool), dreams of championship (ask man c if manure doesn’t slip up), dreams of not being relegated (ask wolfs)! Usually our dreams get destroyed this time of the year! Let’s hope it continues against Wigan! COYG

  23. GUNNER says:

ithink chamackh is in his way out after smoking that shit, park will also seem to leave and padi will get the number 9.
i hate ramsey but he played better vs wigan than his other 4 last matchs, he still need to be calm in front of the goal and he might some times make volley passes to rvp or long passes.i hope he starts as well vs wigan but not vs chelsea!!!
cheers lets destroy the dreams of chelseas europa league chance. let the newcastle be 4th and spurs 5th then chelsea can remain 6th.

  24. adams9802 says:

Isn’t it Wolverhampton Wanderers? I’m stoned and that title made me laugh.

  25. gooner says:

I really can’t help it but notice that MAN UTD got a 7th minute penalty against Aston Villa.

The question that has been bothering me:

WHY IS IT THAT MAN UTD ALWAYS GOT SOFT PENALTY KICKS WHILE OTHER CLUBS ARE DENIED OF LEGITIMATE ONES?

  26. Sufian says:

@Mofaz, I guess you forgot the assists Ramsey made early in the season. At 21, people just get started with their football career, not go for competing with Zidane. Ramsey had a dip in form, and I see RVP wasn’t at his very best lately either. I really don’t get why you are quick to criticise players.
