Forget trophies now we can’t even keep possession against mediocre teams. I don’t know where this club is leading to. Sorry to say but it’s seems hard to me to keep RVP,Vermaelen,Kosheilny and Scezny in this squad for long. 3 weeks into transfer window and we can’t find a left back and we are stuck with a poor old kid,that says it all about ambition.

Even we didn’t won trophies in 6 years we played some good football in most games and were unlucky. Now it’s getting worse day by day. Sadly but yes, we were outplayed. Kos was outrun, Szcesny wasn’t quite himself, Miquel got beat 90% of the time, Ramsey had his worst game, and so on.

We probably can’t keep the players that you mentioned for long. But they are also the very reason that we lost today as well. Before they duck out, they better win us next match against ManUre. Or they will be just as good as Nasri for ManCiteh when they go to another team.

Really bad game, our counter attacking was good but we missed a lot of midfielders today. Benayoun doesn’t play back like Arteta, leading us exposed a lot. Our midfield missed ACTUAL arsenal type DM/CM’s players like Arteta, Wilshere and even Diaby who are out with injuries. We missed our Fullbacks today, Koscielny literally covered miguel almost the whole game like a BOSS!!
0 corners in the first half explains why our wingers weren’t effective at all and BTW! Ramsey was purely UNLUCKY! he worked everywhere on the pitch! Do I blame him for the penalty, not his fault at all it wasn’t supposed to be a penalty in the first place! the second goal I do blame him for but like I said he was unlucky today because Benyoun didn’t help him at all.
This Injury toll is getting really sad. Hopefully Vermaelen and Arteta are back for the next game!

To be honest, Arshavin was making some coverage unlike some other games. You can’t do much for Miquel on the left. You can’t do much for Ramsey who was not able to control anything in the mid field. Where is Arteta by the way? Should have replaced Ramsey with AOC and Benny with Park. Walcott was doing better in the last third though.
Regardless, Swansea beat up. They played as if they were Barca. It reminded me of some bad memories…
Only Kos and Miquel showed desire and worked hard.. Credit to Swansea they showed Arsenal how to play in the top league ..Players like Ramsey, Arshavin , Walcott showed no desire to tread back and help the defence. Basically these are LAZY players ..

We were once feared by whole europe now even championship teams play better than us. If it was 1-2 games I would have forgiven but this whole season we were not upto our standards. Depends on our ambition. Wait for Wilshire Sagna and TV5 to be back in starting lineup. I don’t expect wenger to sign anybody…I will be prepared with a bottle of scotch every weekend. Not going to emirates for any game until board shows any ambition. Why should I waste my money when they want to save every penny. Play with kids I will support arsenal even they r in conference.

Ramsey being unlucky was an understatement. He had a bad game, very bad game. A player can be unlucky, hit an OG, got badly injured. But when your first touch was awkward, passes misplaced, and dribbles were easily robbed the whole game, then it has nothing to do with luck.

Sorry but all these anti-Walcott comments are beyond ridiculous. He even scores with an excellent finish and was one of our better players but somehow he is still the fall guy! Second half especially he showed why you should NEVER right him off. I think Ox is good but watch his games for us closely, he would never have been in the position to score Walcott’s goal. Just as Walcott is a striker playing out wide, Ox is an attacking midfielder and if he should come in for anyone it isn’t Theo, its Ramsey. The kid is still young but he has been one of our worst players recently, if not the worst, and it might be time to bench him for a bit. Arsenal “fans” need to stop blaming Walcott and Arshavin when they are actually doing their bit and our midfield is letting us down!

Americans are capitalists and they will not sink money into the club for bragging rights. The guy’s looking for returns on his investments; not that the Russian’s any better, but anyone thinking of good players coming in aren’t using their heads.
Wenger’s the best manager we’ve got in this situation. He’s ok w/ not spending, so he’s doing best he can. Fire him and good luck finding another great manager who’s willing with no budget (maybe David Moyes will call).
Walcott scored so people calling for his hand should lay off. No one mentioned Sczchesny’s poor position for the game-killer final goal. He came out then backed off, giving the striker the chance to put the ball past him. If you come out you have to show conviction and get right at the striker. Also, the defender was not able to cover, so the goalie was the only one who could’ve.
A lot of the criticisms are misguided, but I don’t know who anyone can keep the faith after games like this.
It all comes down to us having no fullbacks. We’ve known that for a long, long time.
It’s a shame but I think Aaron Ramsey’s going the way of Eduardo.
Ramsey has been awful for the past few games. While I do admit that he does put in an effort and you can see him giving it all of the pitch, his decision-making is poor, and loses the ball way t easily for a midfielder.
It really pisses me off when I see him just run with the ball or slow down the play when there is clearly an open player. He often chooses to shoot when RVP is open and in good position. I guess nobody has told him that he doesn’t need to carry the ball so much and that the ball travels faster than he does. I think we are “ok” on the defense department. Once everybody gets back fit.
However, our midfield is very poor. I assume Ramsey will be benched once wilshire gets back, but if gets another injury we are stuck with wilshire. And lets admit it, Diaby’s career is on decline.
Simply put, out squad is shit… not enough dept, not enough coverage, and too many shitty players.
Walcott has been terrible for the past 5 games… In opinion he should not be playing. I would like to see AOC and Benayoun more, plating in their right positions. Walcott is not meant to be a footballer. He might make a great runner… but he doesn’t have the brain for it… no offense.

THE TRUTH HURTS BUT BETTER THAN DENIALS . ARSENAL PLAYED LIKE A MID TABLE CLUB – FACT, ARSENAL IS NOW IN SIMILAR SITUATION TO LIVERPOOL A COUPLE OF SEASONS AGO – FACT.
What was the point in moving from highbury to grove when they were planning to take this club to mid table. It all started with the toddler feeding policy since we moved stadium. At least the club was a properly run club before. And we are still in search for some club rejects,bargains or some guy from second division to help the club out from this situation. I was never in sack wenger brigade but I am shattered to see my club being raped by 2 mid table teams in fulham and Swansea.

But there is one thing different from the matches we lost & this one as I mentioned earlier. Both teams played total football & seemingly the one team which was best at it won (It wasn’t entirely due to home advantage – remember Swansea lost the first leg only because of a goal keeping error).
Give Swansea the credit for outplaying us. For once, we were beaten at our own game. Losing to a rugby team like Stoke sucks but this one at least was thrilling.
That said, work to do Wenger… get on it!

Arsenal’s hope on getting 4th place now depends on other top 4 contender dropping points and even if they do drop points its no guarantee because Arsenal is unable to take advantage. It seemed that the team somehow lacked motivation to win. Exception being Koscielny and Van Persie ..
Its time for Wenger to admit that our player is not good enough. Swansea deserved to win. They play better. Everyone can see that. However Koscielny & RVP are good. Start to worry that RVP may go to ManCity. Good money and top of the league.

Having a weak midfield does not explain the poor touch of Ramsey, Walcott and Arshavin. Taking the ball off Arshavin and Walcott is like taking candy from a 2 years old kid ! Why not start the Japanese kid instead of Arshavin surely it cant get much worse at least the Japanese kid should show more passion given a chance to play. Same goes for OAC ..
As for Arsene future as an Arsenal manager, simple fact, the fans don’t have the power to sack the manager, only the the board can do that, and as long as the board’s main priority is keeping the book balance and maximize the profits , while winning trophies as secondary objective, Arsene will remain as manager. Arsene will not spend loads of money and risk not winning any trophies and making losses, just look at Liverpool, Kenny spend millions on Carrol, Suarez etc but failing to challenge for the top spot..

@mofaz, Arshavin hasn’t been what he could be but it’s unfair to blame him for his relatively unimpressive performances. He’s not used to playing at wings. Whenever he’s played as a supporting striker, he does what he does best. I think it should’ve been 4-4-1-1 formation bcoz Benayoun is no CM, but he could’ve play a little better at LM or playing Rosicky at LM (or even CM) would’ve been better.
Do not forget Arshavin was the man who gave an assist to RVP for the 1st goal.
I’m sad we lost against Swansea but not like every loss because this time they deserved it & worked for it more than we did & we were not robbed,not too aggression(like rugby teams),so no excuse & the referee wasn’t too bad & caused us the match. the problem Wenger says we have depth but we have quantity not quality. The excuse of playing out of position does not hold water. These are well paid professionals. They are paid weekly wages more that most of us made in a year and those wages come from the fans. They OWE us the fans for their highly paid jobs and their job is to play with passion 100%, win with passion and if lose also with passion and hunger to win. We have the right to be angry or frustrated and criticize the manager, individual players and the board. These individual may not be here tomorrow but the fans remain loyal to The Arsenal Football Club not individuals or personalities.

Look at the stats closely , how many of those passes go forward ? Hell if you base a player’s performance by % of passes even an average championship player will look fantastic provided he makes passes backward away from the oppositions …
The main reason Arsenal is so poor is because Cecs Fabregas is no longer in the mid field. Arsenal misses him more than Nasri..Arteta is ok but he’s no substitute for Cecs. Just imagine how many goals Van Persie could score if Cecs is still with Arsenal..
Arsenal’s goal scoring machine is from the midfield straight through the center ..not from left or right..not from crosses..not from set play i.e. corners or free kicks . if the midfield does not provide the bullets the gunners will shoot blanks .
Is it just a coincident that the top passer is Yaya Toure and the top of the league is Man City? Of course efficiency and how many of passes were goal assists and if you watched the guy all over the season, you won´t say that he deserves to be negatively in the focus.
Arteta is playing in Wilshere’s role not Cesc’s & he is gr8 but ramsey is playing in cesc’s place.i feel that Wenger can try both wilshere & arteta in the AMF postion & make the right balance ,ramsey should be rested to give him some space to work on his weaknesses & think what his decision making is good but it can be better sometimes he thinks of shooting when its not the best choice & vice versa.he will be better when jack comes back & Wenger,more experience players should help him to work on these things (his shots r strong but not very accurate, his backheels r not needed when a simple pass can do it although he gave 2 nice backheels vs leeds, his link with Walcott is not that good as he doesnt give him the passes he likes ‘behind the left fullback’ & he cross.)About Walcott enough is said.I think the problem was his contract talks or desire to leave.He must feel that Wenger will bench him if he isnt good enough & play AOC/rosicky.Playing bad sometimes & missing sitters & finishing like yesterday & against chelsea,means he can finish,play well,do what we have seen for about 5-7games after chelsea’s game, he must lacks motivation or confidence both can be stored by winning matches-scoring goals.

Actually your somewhat right, not completely. Its dumb to point out our only bullets come through the midfield and no where else because RVP has scored majority of his goals this season through the wingers. Of course our wingers work well with a good midfield! but then I can also say our midfield is backed up by fullbacks who assure them on a defensive point of view and quickly turn defense into offence… PRETTY MUCH I can keep going with this cycle and etc… so your point goes no where and it isn’t an efficient answer.
Arteta isn’t just ok! he is actually good! He was never a replacement of cesc but a replacement of Wilshere whose been out for a while. Arteta never plays CAM but instead plays a complete central role or a DM Role majority of the times. He is to back up Song and Ramsey, yet I don’t think he was originally assigned that role when he came but he grew himself into it very good. WE DID MISS ARTETA ALOT IN THE SWANSEA GAME!!
Arsenal aren’t poor because of Fabregas leaving lol, you have to be an idiot to say that because, to know Arenal scored 5 on Chelsea with Ramsey on the field and went 7 games straight without losing until they were hit with injuries is because FABREGAS LEFT! Arsenal work more as a team together instead of relying on a cutting edge pass from Fabregas.
Honestly everyone can see this and as a big fan I can see it as well, WE MISS BACARY SAGNA AND ANDRE SANTOS! If they were playing our dynamic game from the wing to the midfield would be a disaster to any team. We were all witnessing it with Santos owning the left flank like nothing and Sagna owning the right flank easily. Realisticly they are out! I heard Sagna is coming back very soon! and could feature in the ManU game but not sure.
I do miss gervinho though, even with this finishing… his dribbling is amazing and could do well regardless or the midfield not supplying him much.

With Arsenal, we don’t really need to throw out any players. Just need to build and improve, buying someone new does not mean he’ll just replace someone else’s role. Wenger does not have to balance the sheets if its a bigger and better squad that is versatile.
Its just ridiculous to hear Wenger ‘hoping’ for players to return within the month when its the results here and now that will affect our entire campaign. Our CB’s are playing on the side and fundamentally thats wrong.
We have a strong squad, but as of now we’re weakened and Wenger persists with his faith that Vermalen and Miquel and Coquelin are adequate substitutes on the flank against teams such as Manchester United, Swansea, Blackburn and i disagree.

I think there is no point in blaming Wenger, the problem lies with the board and also whoever is in charge of transfers, I heard that David Dein used to be part of that and was very influential, we need him back or somoene like him back. Look at Spurs they managed to get VDV for less than 10 mil now thats a bargain, I am sure if Arsenal made an offer he wud have preffered us over the Spurs. Also there is almost half a season left and anything is possible.
We will be getting players back from injury and that means we can only finish stronger but Wenger does need to buy a Striker and a Midfielder. I was really pissed after the game but I have got used to this, I have seen so much of this through the last 6 yrs that i just laugh it off sometimes… pretty sad but thats the truth.
Also Arshavin and Walcott need to be benched for sometime. Walcott is indescribable, he had a good strech of games before DEc and now he is back to his normal.
Truth is this Manchester United game this sunday is getting so much hype in USA and of course in ENGLAND, calling it a “Revenge Game” or “Arsenal look to be motivated more for this one”….. but to me its just plain DUMB.
- Truth to be told would be the fact Arsenal are depleted in starters. No Fullbacks which means ManU operates on the WING with their own wingers so… yea our current replacements for Fullbacks are going to have a long day.
- Gervinho isn’t going be there, so you aren’t going to see any of our wingers getting past their fullbacks by out dribbling them. (unless AOC is playing)
- Our midfield isn’t fluid or strong in any sense ATM at all, if any case Arteta is missing for this one… FOR SURE our midfield isn’t going to be same.
- With the lack of ACTUAL fullbacks our midfield isn’t going to be on a very attacking transition this game. Our best bet can be our counter attacking.(which isn’t too bad, but Arsenal don’t rely on that).
- Our only hope is the fact our forwards somehow find space to exploit the ManU defense and get through. Or our wingers actually do something on the wing besides stay quiet. I have a feeling HENRY will MAKE AN IMPACT, hope!

So I was thinking, what is wenger ing. Not spending, every team in the premier league is shoring up their defenses. Why did arsenal not sign Taiwo from AC Milan, how is it that QPR is able to afford him as well as sign christoper samba, he requested a transfer. That would surely boost our defenses, until sagna and santos come back. Metersacker needs a rest. The arsenal board has no sense of football…
@Srikanth, David Dein is indeed the man. Just look at what price Emir Spahić’s club demanded from Arsenal in the summer of 2010, yes 20 million British pounds or around that. However, he has joined Sevilla of Spain for around 2 million pounds I guess. It just shows how ridiculous is the negotiators of our club. David Dein MUST return! Wenger can’t do everything!
