Come on, guys… It wasn’t that bad… We had our chances. I think arshavin and ramsey looked good in the center of the midfield and I would rather substitute gervinho than arshavin. Gervinho has both pace and skill but his decision making in the final third is just awful.. Wasted way too many chances. And I can’t understand why the Arsenals were hugging Barton at the end as if they were friends!? He caused so many troubles along with the referees!

The problem I saw today: RvP was not playing well today, hope the Fab and Nasri thing don’t get him down! The few good balls he received he messed up a bit!Gervinho played well, he will score a lot of goals this year! @ KTF Your optimism is refreshing among arsenal fans right now, however I think that supporters are entitled to be a little fed up. Our trophy case has been empty since 2005 and it looks like our two best players are about to leave with no direct replacements. And sure our back four and SZCZ did well today but like you said, a season is 38 games long and judging by their record last season I would still like to see another new face.
I think that, like last season, it will be difficult to predict who will finish where. We are still very much in contention for a top four spot, but it’s going to be harder than ever.

I’m pretty sure AW can “spend the money” but on who to replace fabregas? Sneijder?!?!? he is 30!! are you gonna buy him for 30mil + and get him on a 4 year contract until he’s 34? lol.. Realisticly sneijder might give you one good season but the following season I doubt it because of his age. I don’t really know anyone who can replace fabregas. Juan Mata was supposed to be bought in july but AW didn’t bid higher because he wanted wait and see what would happen with the nasri situation and now he’s worth up to 30 mil. which is extremely bad marketing just to please some dumb fans.
Can someone pop up really good replacements for Fabregas in CM or CAM?? Realisticly who can be bought and wouldn’t mind going to our club.

Lucho Gonzalez – more of a all-round CM or CD, good passer. He plays both ends of the pitch.
Juan Mata- he would be ideal, don’t think its going to happen unless AW stops being cheap.
Jadson – I personally don’t like this guy that much, his youtube videos are kind of impressive but Brazilians in the EPL scare me.

Lucho Gonzalez is not good enough to be part of Arsenal! I prefer Wilshere and Ramsey than him. His market Value is high too. Besides anyone probably haven’t noticed but we have the best DM in the league. Alex Song! I don’t know any DM better than him in EPL. I used to think it was Essien but Song has surpassed him.
Riccardo Montolivo is probably someone we need idealy btw but won’t get him because florintina won’ let him go.
I don’t know if Jadson is even up to the task even though he has much experience and I wouldn’t mind if we bought him.

Riccardo Montolivo is either staying with Fiorentina, or he is going to another Italian club. I do agree he is a legit top class footballer and an excellent replacement for Fabergas.

I’m not thrilled about Jadson either. He seems like a second choice. I hope I’m wrong though because it seems like he is the most likely to join and I would love for him to perform. However I can’t help but feel that Wenger made a huge mistake bidding low for Mata in July. He knew his price was going to rise and even if Cesc and Nasri didn’t leave this year he would have been a really solid investment in the club’s future. Good afternoon everyone! So Chelsea draw at stoke, Manure won with an own goal… Our result does now all of a sudden not look that bad? The Udinese games are important NO DISPUTING that! We need a rabbit for those games! HOWEVER I can already tell what is going to happen next weekend! We will have heavy legs due to the Udinese game and most probably draw against Liverpool and the boo boys will be out again! MAYBE the boos are what got Fab and Nasri to leave?
I see I made a bit of a stir with my comments! Good I like! Let me first say, I don’t live in England so I cannot go and watch Arsenal play live! Oh what a dream on a student income! I will do it one day! HOWEVER I buy one home and one away kit, I pay round about £70 each here in south africa! I have supported Arsenal for the past 12 years! So I have watched every game won by the invincible! I watched Ljunberg curl the ball into the top left corner agains Chelsea to win the FA! I watched Seamen make that brilliant save in the last few seconds to win FA against Sheffield! I cried when we lost to Barca in the UEFA final after one of the most insane displays of bravery I have ever seen (and I have run the Comrades)! I remember watching arsenal play manure at old trafford and henry was rested and Wiltored scored twice to win the game… Just because I cannot watch the game live at the Emirates does not change a thing…
So let me start on the ticket price, have you seen our financial state? The price increase is done to pay off the seat you sit in every weekend! We still owe about 300 mil if I can remember correctly! Secondly when the financial fair play comes in, any extra income will help with transfers! Another thing, next year you will see prices drop significantly of players! Not a lot of clubs will have money to buy players “worth” 30mil! So not a lot of “income” from players unless you drop the price…
On the transfers, Mata will not come to Arsenal! I think Arsene had a fallout with him/his club/his coach! That is why he said “I don’t need to tell you why we will not buy (Mata)”. On Nasri replacement… We need a decent LW, the only reason Nasri played well in the begining of last year is because he swapped from the left to the right… Shava had a great game when he played on the right this weekend! So my suggestion get a REAL left wing (not a makeshift like Shava and Nasri) and move Shava to the right! Gervinho did look good on either side tho…
Last thing and I hope a lot of fans read this before Thursday… This will be the first season Arsenal will have to win games the ugly way, week in week out! This will be the first year Arsenal will have to stomp on a-holes like bartley! This will be the first year in a very long time that we will have to be the bad asses! Rosicky: get injured for 18 months, yes 1 and a half years. He didn’t hang up his boots! He worked hard got his fitness back and what did the fans do last season (first season back after 18 month layoff) call him a deadwood…
Ramsey: BROKE his leg playing for Arsenal! He stood up, worked hard!went on loan and now he is back! Guess what, still sliding into tackles… No bitching no moaning ALL about the arsenal!
Fringpong: last year was his year to shine, Arsene sets him up for last season! He injure his knee (ligament damage) out for 6MONTHS! What does he do?just keeps going! Worked hard kept going and look at him now! Built like a brick toilet!
ALL these players have done all they can to play a part in the ARSENAL CAUSE! What have you done? Sang songs like “6% you having a laugth” or ” spend some %&#$ money”… COME ON

@KeepTheFaith gotta admire your faith, but i cant see arsenal getting 5th, let alone 6th this season. I admire Rosicky and i think he’s a great technical talent, but he just doesn’t have that end product, although his link-up play is first class. But as the chief playmaker, he’s nowhere near Cesc Fabregas level. I think Robin van Persie would be great in that position, but we haven’t got a striker as good as him that he can play off. I don’t think Ramsey has got back to the level he was at before his injury, but that will come with playing time. I think he needs to be given that role behind van Persie because i think he is the most natural decisive passer of the ball that Arsenal have (Fabregas is a Barca player now), as witnessed by his pass to set up Theo Walcott in the pre-season friendly against Malaysia XI. From what we currently have, I would choose this team:
Szczesny
Sagna Koscielny Vermaelen Gibbs
Song Wilshere
Gervinho Ramsey Arshavin
van Persie
But I would prefer it if we brought in another creative midfielder and dominating centre back with the funds from the Fabregas and Nasri sales. If we got them signings, maybe we could get a top 4 place. Fabregas is almost irreplaceable in my opinion, but I don’t think Nasri will be as big a miss as people think. Great player, but no playmaker, and no way would i put him in the playmaker role ahead of Ramsey

Just like we cannnot find a replacement for Seamen, Vierra, Henry etc etc… HOWEVER, we will now just CREATE a new STAR! Ever thought what went through Wengers head when he bought Fabregas? What he was thinking buying a 16 year old for 600 000 to replace Vierra once he left the next season? It is amazing to think about it that way… Has he done it again? Buying Oxlaid a 17 year old to replace Fabregas? Interesting… (Net profit around 27 mil to indulge in something different)

Like any Arsenal fan, we are all disappointed that we didn’t get off to a winning start at Newcastle who is perceived to be weaker compared to forthcoming Liverpool and Man U. The consolation was at least we didn’t lose.
As for Fabregas leaving and maybe eventually also Nasri I think the manager had done his utmost to keep them but we have to wish them all the best and move on.
Hopefully Arsene Wenger will manage to bring in some new exciting talents before the transfer window ends to fill the obvious voids in the team(even when we had Fabregas and Nasri).
The conclusion of the Fabregas saga may be the dawn of some new and positive ones…who knows?
Boos and putting the team down are not going to help and we have to throw our support behind the team for the upcoming make-or-break game Champions League games against Udinese…

Its sad because all those barca fans are like “welcome home cesc” but in reality 3 years ago Fabregas made a statement saying “the only people in the world I am thankful to is first Arsene Wenger and second is my parents”. He is who is because of Arsene Wenger, not some fiction called “Barca DNA” and he knows it. I’m not saying all of this because I want him to stay. Its just sad people don’t really understand he wouldn’t be the player he is today if it weren’t for Arsene Wenger.
Having stood on the North Bank watching some boring games with Terry Neil as manager, the move to The Emirates made me full of optimism. Sadly, despite comfy seats and ok food, I do not feel optimistic.
I think Wenger has become too stubborn in his tactics and transfer policy.
He doesn’t seem to have a plan B, how many games have we been biting our nails hoping for a late late goal, or pleading for a change in players to liven up the team?
Value for money in transfers? If we had paid £3m over the odds for Given and Cahill last year would we have won the Carling Cup or finished 3rd in PL? Money well spent in that case!!
I think it is fair for True supporters to be annoyed/frustrated with Wenger/Board, Trust in Arsene I think needs to be gained not taken for granted.
