i personally like gervinho a lot. i think he brings something new to arsenal’s offensive end cuz honestly we don’t have a striker that has both speed & tricks such as him. i just hope he could be consistent throughout the season. and i’m very glad (and relieved) to see that RVP still keeps his sharpness from last season. hope everything goes well for arsenal this season, and can’t wait for the next signing promised by Wenger.

i like gibbs at the left back position i always thought he was better than glichy but the thing is i dont want anyone younger than like 24 in that back four. but in the wing back position i could make an exception if gibbs performs we need a defensive coordinator at the club because its getting ridiculous they just look like a bunch of school children when it comes to making decisions back there.

  • arsenal954

obviously schillachi needs to find out if he can get another job because football is not his thing

  • Trondheim

    Squillaci once again

  • jnno

man im sick of squillaci, even though i understand its a friendly and wenger giving the players a game but man he is just not good enough

  • arsenal954

for the first time as a arsenal fan i am not confident going into the new season

  • jnno

there are five players at least that should be sold

I felt our strikers and wingers compelling forward is really good but our midfield was eh.. the first half. the second half it kinda got worse I believe with lansbury getting in for rosicky. Our counter attacking was horrible and ball possesion wasn’t good at all. Their midfield were dominating at times to a point our defenders were forced to make last ditch tackles. I feel like we kinda need one more central attacking midfielder since wilshere was injured and cesc is in an UNKNOWN category atm. Just incase for future references later this season.

BTW anyone realize in the first half when RVP was playing at times he was forced into playing CAM instead of a striker upfront because no one held the ball well while going forward.

  • jellykid

BTW can does anyone know if ryo miyaichi got his workd permit or not because he played in the benfica game today so I thought he probably got his work permit… but I just wanna the truth so yea lol

  • goonerkap

@arsenal954: me too ! our defence is low..sad day, sad next season.

At night I pray for Chris Samba

PS Looking forward to a great season with all of you, I am still very optimistic and Wenger looks great in black.

    Fuck Spurs

Like many fans, I terribly fear the beginning of the new season. As Wenger said last year, without Fabregas, and moreover without Clichy and perhaps Nasri (who is about to sign with the Citizens), Arsenal can’t be a great club anymore. We can see that there is no major advancement regarding to the weakness we showed last seasons: during most of the pre-season friendly matchs, we concede goals from set-pieces, we still have worrying defensive problems (not only Squillaci, but all the defenders !). Worst of all, we even lose our “beautiful football” which made us prouf of our favorite team; indeed we have a very sterile domination, very inefficient and useless. Finally the Gunners show the same lack of confidence and the same fears as last season’s final weeks: we were unable to beat a Chinese and feable team which was crushed by Man. U two years ago; we have lost one or two goals leads against Boca, Red Bulls and we were defeated by Benfica!
That’s almost outrageous. There was no great signing, except Gervinho (but he can’t save the whole team). Arsenal is not attractive anymore.
Only van Persie was performant and managed to score; he is the only satisfaction and now, he is injured.
My friends, sorry to be so pessimistic, but I think this year, we will leave the Big Four, and perhaps more.

Sorry for my English but I’m French.

van persie has an ankle problem, gibbs has a thigh problem, vermaelen has a back problem, walcott, wilshere, koscielny still injured, nasri & cesc & bendtner & eboue leaving, squillaci is healthy (a bad thing), miyaichi doesn’t have a work permit yet, might as well shut down the fucking club Wenger. next season is gonna be rough.

  • arsenal954

excellent comment budski the club is pretty much a mess hahahaha funny comment.

  • icJgunner

This is certainly a grim preseason for arsenal. Then again, it could be the kick in the ass needed to make changes at the club. Clearly, the status quo is not a winning formula. Wenger needs some big changes in the back, and now he should realize it.

  • KeepTheFaith

I have to say: grim pre season yes!BUT what I have noticed is the following: Arsene looked relaxed, I think he is trying a new approached with regards tot the pre season! He is starting it off at a much slower pace! Emirates cup was a must win for him in previous years, what I read from Arsene body language was a more relax look! BUT he was studying the SQUAD, he summing up every player and I believe contemplating a formation change! 4-4-2….

On the transfer saga, he has replaced Nasri today! So if Nasri wants to leave next season, Arsene will phone a cab for Nasri and even pay the cab fee! I don’t know what to think about this Costa Rica dude… I smell trouble, we don’t need a Bolatteli in our squad! It seems as if my first choice CB (who can stand in for Song/Fringpong if needed at DM) mr Per is coming! At 6mil, the money from Clichy will be well spend on Per… What a great swap!

To all the Arsene haters, we are rebuilding the defence and maybe the heart of midfield! Give him time, one cup (carling or fa) this season will be the start of something great!

    In Arsene we trust

  • KeepTheFaith

I forgot to add, after pre season I always predict the player(s) to watch for the coming season. Song was my player to watch last year and I believe he was (I would say Wilshere was our best player but Song surprised everyone)

My player(s) for this season is (fortunately I more than one this year): Fringpong will have a great season, leading the team in the carling/FA cup and Ramsey will have a great breakthrough season and will be our super sub!players to make a comeback: Rosicky, Arshavin an Chamak!

    Up the Gunners

  • Gnostradamus

It’s obvious from pre-season that all those Fab-haters who thought Ramsey et al. are good enough to replace him are deluded. And I hope the other Fab-haters will stop making fun of a great keeper.

I really hope the $56 million will go towards some good players that we desperately need: a creative CAM, a top defensive coach and a class CB, and maybe a wingback.
