Arsenal vs Blackburn MOTD Highlights 2-1

Quite the shite afternoon, the season can’t come to an end fast enough. Earlier Wenger had said that he doesn’t necessarily need to buy a goalie, I hope Fabianksi nervy display changes his mind. He has no business NOT catching the ball on the second goal, it is practically shot at his head and he’d do wise to pursue the ball rather than hope it lands in his hands. We’ve now taken 1 point from our last 4 league games. Just an awful way to end a season.

Welcome back RvP. We have missed you.

  2. HshGooner says:

Fabianski is being bullied and it sucks how ESPN analysts are talking about his performance as if he’s been terrible! He’s had a fairly good game so far until their goal! Even in that goal their player backed into Fabianski! Oh well…LETS GO ARSENAL AND PUT 3 more in back of those bullies’ net!!

  3. HshGooner says:

Never mind I take back what I said about Fabianski…he just can’t cope with big Samba…It sucks!

  4. fabianskisucks says:

Big games? This is as small a game as it gets and he still manages to make arsenal look like fools!!

  5. Gooner says:

    Fabianski sucks period.

  6. James Bond says:

This was a perfect squad, but again – no ideas. When Arshavin came in I thought we’re going to score one back and maybe a late one to secure victory BUT FUCK NO! AGAIN THE STUPID KEEPER FABIANSKI. Why the hell did Wenger let him play, when there is Manone? We didn’t make any pressure to B-burn, we were just passing the ball far far away from their penalty area without making any danger and they just waited for a wrong pass (there were plenty of those) and a counter-attack, leading to FABIANSKI’S POOR EFFORTS! If we lose to Fulham – damn it this will be our worst ending of the season for so many years. Wenger, please CHANGE THIS FUCKIN GOALIE AND THE CHINESE LOOKING DUMP CALLED SILVESTRE. TRANSFER THEM!

  7. Gooner says:

The team dint even play like an arsenal team! Lost interest really.. they don look gr8 n there is nothin to play for! quite boring

  8. Gooner says:

Oh n if we lose to fulham n spurs win the next 2 games guess where we finish?

  9. dubbledubs71 says:

this team only has one way of playing & every manager has worked out how to counter it, in blackburns case it was stay close & kick em outta the game, while parkin the team bus in front of the goal, total anti football at its best. arsenal dont kno how 2 win ugly & there is not & never will be a plan b. too many fucking tourists in the team, arshavin & the cunt fabianski the biggest culprits. altho the results agnst city & man u earlier in the season dont reflect that we could have beat them, we fall short tactically time & again against the big teams & that has to change. on 2 fulham at the emirates & they will have their eyes on their cup final & we have 2 win if only 2 assure the scum dnt finish above us & we dont have 2 play champions league qualifier nxt season. fuck we gotta spend BIGTIME & shift the slackers, this shit aint funny anymore. A.F.C FOREVER

  10. HshGooner says:

I will be one angry person if Arsenal finishes below S****!!

  11. Even though I agree he is a wank sock – I believe Arsenal have other problems aside from Fabianski – I think it’s clear that some players don’t want to be at Arsenal, which is a disgrace because we are on of the tops teams in the world. People like Arshavin should take a leaf from big Sol’s book – The Gunners need more soldiers and less yaps – leave the complaining to actuall Arsenal fans – If I were Wenger – I’d grow sideburns, buy Shay Given and Kompany from Man City – plus Balotelli from Inter Milan – sell or “donate” Silvestre to Burnley and any other players that don’t deserve the massive privilege of wearing the Arsenal jersey – anyone who doesn’t support and love the club can fuck off.

    Fuck Spurs.

  12. Gooner says:

Sucks that the team din play like arsenal! i love arsenal n the way they play but this isn’t it!! We know one way to play n that is play some pretty passing to gr8 effect and have strong physical players in defense and midfield! I din see any of that today!

Many of the players today have actually performed well earlier this season so have they hit their peak?? I dunno! But really disappointing!

Either way this season is pretty much done so wat do u guys think bout the transfer window? thats the most interesting part for me right now! A handful of good buys and it’ll be exciting to see wat this team does.

To be honest, I did expect quite a bit more this season. Vermalean was awesome! but apart from him we dint have any new players! But i felt that with rosiscky and edu coming in we had some awesome quality! but unfortunately they have not been able to perform. Cant blame them! Players take time to get settled wen they’ve been out just for a few weeks! But effectively we played with the same team that did badly last season.

Premier league-wise if u compare the tables i don see a huge difference in it! Champions league-wise not a big difference! We got knocked out by good teams each time.

But there was a huge difference in terms of tactics. 4-3-3 worked brilliantly for us.
But the injuries din help us.
Defense was never exceptional even with vermalean but it was decent for a while.

The position of Left back in the team has a lot of talent and promise!

The goalkeepers were not up to the mark and sometimes downright awful
except for the first half at barca and the whole game at fulham!

RVP is God! But we have missed a second striker.

Fabregas has grown leaps and bounds this season! We will not be the same without him!

Song is a genius and a very good season for him as well!!

Diaby has been hot and cold! Wen he’s hot its awesome! but otherwise he just looks stupid! maybe a some consistency!!

so arsene has done a lot of progress this season even if it is just a lil baby step ahead in terms of us challenging for trophies!

Hopefully just gets better from now

  13. rizalregas says:

@Gooner, couldn’t agree more with your jotting. Nice one! Come on Gunners….let finished the season with a win and pride!

  14. ArsenalX says:

I don’t know how many times I have to say this. The only way that players are going to fight for the club like the players at Barca, is to bring them up though the Youth System/Academy.

Supporters need to remember that the players are only human. An average footballer is not going to go out and give 110% to a club that they really don’t care about. I think that this is what a lot of Arsenal supporters, such as myself, are unhappy about. We don’t have many players who are willing to do ANYTHING it takes to win. The team is arrogant in the sense that just by showing up they think they are going to steam roll teams like Blackburn. This is the the best league in the world, that means that the best players are in this league, showing up is just not good enough, some times you have to go outside of your game plan to win.

We have ONE person on the team who is like this, Sol Campbell. This is because Arsenal MEANS something to him. Henry was just like this and still is. Even though his legs are gone, people are calling for his return. Why you ask? Because fans know he will go and play his heart out for Arsenal, NO MATTER WHAT.

What we need is a couple of people that had Alan Shearer’s mentality. That guy would go out and die for NUFC and England. That is the kind of mentality that a player at Arsenal needs.

Shearer wasn’t flashy or the most technically gifted, he was a workhorse, an opportunist, a WINNER!

When Wenger brings in players, I don’t care if they are as fast a Walcott, or have the finishing ability of RVP. What I want is someone who as a fan, you know will lay his body out there for the Arsenal.

  15. Gooner says:

I don think that that’s the only way that players will sweat it for the team but thats a good point! I think the team should be a good blend of both! players developed and players bought! Some players bought will be a whiny bunch like adebayor n they will go out eventually but there are others who will get tough when the going gets tough! I agree with u that the team seems to lack passion and determination at key points! Many times they seem to lack a spark that can make them play to their potential.

  16. Nacho Cheeseball says:

The thing is, everyone is already in off-season. They think there’s nothing left to play for, so everyone’s already at “Holiday” mode, if you’ll have it that way. Sol Campbell is trying his utter best to keep our opponents in check, but that’s because this IS his last season.

Some players have the grit, like you’ll see with Vermaelen (backtracking runs), Fabregas (captain), van Persie (van Persie) and even Clichy(uber-running).

First off, we will take third, as we play Fulham next week (closing doors) who don’t play for anything, and will be resting half their players for the Europa league final.

Second, Arsene knows when a player’s time is up.. and I am quite sure he actually sees the need for a decent keeper.

Finally.. we will win the league title next season

    P.S. I really miss Jens.

  17. Goooonner! says:

honestly wtf do u expect fabianski to do about the second goall… he was practically pushed into the net

  18. Sonofkick says:

    just a question , i didnt watch the game but i just look at the goal highligh and got a question..;
Since when a goalkeeper can be block to come for crosses??? i mean their first goal was a bit so so , unluky fabiansky or clumsy i dont know , but for the second the goal he is completely bloke inside the goal??? i mean i know he should push them and all but really?? anywhere in the world the ref would have wistle for foul.. its a big joke !!

we all know we need a a more physical keeper and better one but u cant blame fabian for the goals.. plus many player are looking at the world cup coming shortly…

iam telling u we will get great great player coming next season , at last !!!
a good goali, chamak is here and 2 new CB and maybe a DM to cover for song, and we will spend money that we got and so no gettin debt

2nd question , will u post somme world cup higlight here arsenalist??
    thx

  19. Ezekiel says:

    Current Arsenal XI:
    Almunia
    Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy
    Song
    Fabregas Nasri
    Walcott Arshavin
    Van Persie

    2nd XI:
    Fabianski
    Eboue Campbell Silvestre Gibbs
    Eastmond
    Diaby Denilson
    Rosicky Eduardo
    Bendtner

All the players in bold are young players with massive potential to fulfill. If I were you, I wouldn’t worry too much about Arsenal’s future!

We have SO MUCH young talent that I’m quite sure if we were not to buy any new players, and keep our players for say 5 years, we have at least in terms of player value £300 million! I’m so excited as to what’s in stall. Anyone realised that the above list is not our full squad list?

How about Ramsey and his Cesc-like plays? How about Wilshere who makes any Gooner not miss Pires? How about Bartley whom England calls the next Ferdinand?

    And of the mentioned squad,
Gibbs, who makes Cashley look like a poor Academy wingback?
Vermaelen, who has outshone Toure’s 7-year acheivements in one, in half the price?
Song, who reminds me of Mascherano’s tackling and Park’s workrate?
    Fabregas, needless to say.
Nasri, who can outshine Fabregas on certain days?
Walcott, whose finishing needs work, but at 21, you must say he’s not that good now because he’s not that selfish.
Eastmond, who can play against the standard EPL 30-year-old center mids?
    Denilson, with 98% pass rate?
Bendtner, who looks to be a future Adebayor, but one who will repay his club.

How can we not be excited? This whole prospect thing keeps me more excited than us being in the title race to be honest.

Come on Gooners, 2011 to 2018 will be our era!

  20. Ezekial – truly are a prophet AND a Gunner – I enjoyed your post and dubblebubbs as always – I’ve got a feeling you’se both “roll your own” – 2012 will be our year I fear/feel. Wish it was next year but so long as we keep our class and integrity I don’t mind.

Even my spearm support Arsenal. (don’t ask)

    Fuck Spurs.

  21. mofaz says:

almost all of them are foreign players who is looking forward for a break i.e. holiday and going back to their home country, so after the defeat at whl they simply not interested anymore , basically there is nobody on the field who will kick the lazy asses ..like viera or keona type to lead on the field..sad sad

  22. raz says:

The post title suggest we won this game at home (?)!

  23. Unknown Arsenal fan says:

Fake game, Fabianski was being pushed about in the box, CLEAR FREE KICK. Stupid ref. As long as we beat Fulham, we will stay 3rd.

  24. budski says:

hey, I heard that People wrote that Arshavin AND Clichy are leaving for Barca this summer? does anyone know if this is true or not? because if it is, I’m so friggin pissed at them both, but if it’s not, I’m so friggin pissed at the media. Either way I’m PISSED!

  25. gunner says:

yes its all over the media but it could be bullshit. dont want clichy to go. however according to russian media arshavin said him playing for barcelona would be the peak of his career, to be fair i found a lot of his pictures with barcelona shirts on. well if thats true he can fuck off. as someone previsouly we need 100 percent loyal players who can play thier hearts out for the club every single game. gotta love sol campbell.

  26. dubbledubs71 says:

I think wenger shud use some of the transfer kitty 2 take the boys to a knockin shop in kings cross 2 make men of them. i hope chamakh is already bagged n tagged n not heresay, he is a great header of the ball which we have missed 4 some time (henry wasnt known for scorin 2 many) b52 gives us that option 2 but lacks composure when the ball is at his feet, but theres hope for him yet, hes young. (splinters in me arse from sittin on the fence). and if players were gettin paid based on their performance, fabianski arshavin rosicky & silvestre wud b driving vauxhall vectras instead of bentleys n rollers. all i know is (i hate spurs) this team is the going 2 be awesome & i FUCKING love it. A.F.C arsenal forever

  27. Magical Arsenal says:

Oh come on you can hate arshavin for all i care, but curely not clichy? Like you can obviously tell he worships arsenal. But for now while they’re still wearing the Gunners shirt let’s show Silvestre and Arshavin some respect.

Rosicky, bad? I like the way he tackles, run for the ball and make sudden sprints through defences.

For ppl who do not realise their luck of being at the Emirates, such as Gallas and Arshavin, I really pity their stupidity.

And fabianski was quite excellent in this match, no? he made some wonderful saves and to be fair you could not blame the two goals on him. He got bullied by some Blackburn shit, and now he’s getting more shit from us. How does that feel?

Let’s respect our players as for now, unless some new shit like the Togofreak pops out.

And please do not say Chinese looking dump, James Bond, you don’t look too good either.

  28. Nabz says:

    Arsenal
    Come to Emirates
    OUT
Almunia, Rosicky, Senderos, Merida, Silvestre, Eduardo, Diaby, Vela (loan)
    IN
Almunia: Hugo Lloris, Manuel Neuer, Doni, Sergio Romero, Sebastien Frey and Robert Green are all being considered to replace Almunia. Joe Hart is also a possibility.

Rosicky: Eden Hazard or possibly Yoann Gourcuff or Steven Defour in will go in a part trade deal for Rosicky.

Senderos: will be replaced by one of Man City’s Micah Richards, Ajax’s Gregory van der Wiel and Fulham’s Bede Hangeland. Cesar Azpilicueta and Simon Kjaer are also a possibilities.

Merida and Diaby: Felipe Melo and Charles N’Zogbia or Ander Herrera or Clement Chantome or James McCarthy will quite possibly come in to assist Song in the defensive midfield allowing Cesc and Hazard room further forward.
Silvestre: Mamadou Sakho, Kamil Zayatte, Stefan Savic and Steven Mouyokolo are all options being lined up to replace Silvestre.

Eduardo: Chamakh will come in Bosman, there will be no other forwards signed unless AW gets a good deal for Hugo Rodallega, Mauro Zarate, Abel Hernandez, Carlton Cole, Takayuki Morimoto, Giampaolo Pazzini or Loic Remy. Will compete with Chelsea for Lukaku and Eriksen at youth level.

    wat u lot thinkkkk? :)

  29. Nabz says:

lil transfer summary xD ..FUTURE IS BRILL FOR ARSENAL!

  30. rvpfan says:

Arsenalist shud have a transfers section, I wud defo visit and comment:)

    @Nabz

    Gr8 work m8, Looking gooddddd:P

  31. Norwegian Fag says:

Well, to be honest, I saw only one mistake done by Fabianski. He had a good evening! Thats what i have to say. He saved a few shots and was unlucky, like Arsenal have been this season.
Dont judge him too hard! He has got it hidden somewhere, and he better get it out now and play some football or else we will be fourth.

  32. KeepTheFaith says:

I’m going to comment on Arshavin, so if you dont like him rather skip this comment.

I believe the press is trying to destabilize his position at Arsenal. He has Arsenal written in his heart, I truelly believe so!

Lets just walk through his season. Remember when we lost RVP and B52? Who played upfront? Who had a broken bone in his foot will playing upfront to keep Arsenal alive?

You see, he gave everything to Arsenal this season! Unfortunately we were in a position where we had to play him upfront. He was bullied by defenders sometimes double his weight… That is what took it out of him, being pushed around week in week out, not playing where he wants to play and as he said not playing his best soccer.

I hope he stays because I know he will be awesome next season AND lastely please dont compare him to HLEB subconsciously. HLEB messed up BUT Arshavin is a totally different person! The rest during the World Cup will turn him into a new player, I believe we will need him to win the EPL next year!!!

Come on the gunners, 1 point is all we need!

PS remember when Man C did not have the balls to take the 3 points from us!!!!!! Suck on that and enjoy 5th, I’ll rather lose 2-1 vs blackburn and at least attack than draw without trying to win!!!

  33. Ezekiel says:

Sorry Nabz, i’m not a big fan of whatever you wrote. You wrote of 7 players going out (discluding Vela)the Emirates, which I think is

    1. impossible
    2. un-Arsenal-like
    3. very-Manshitty-like
    4. unhealthy for the team
    5. without reason
    6. impossible

Why would we offload 7 players and replace them in 1 transfer season? That is just plain scary to think that one of our fans is actually thinking like how Mancini would for the Dec/Jan transfer window. This how dumping 7 players and replacing them is just plain Mancity policy.

However, if you are talking about each player exchange as a suggestion, (as in replace 1 or 2 of them) I still do not agree with you. However, Almunia, sadly, agreed. I’m praying not to see Buffon wearing the Arsenal No 1 next season. I’m in favour for a good-solid keeper and not a superstar keeper. A very Wengerish choice for keeper would be Sebastien Frey. Solid, but not some superstar.

I don’t like Rosicky, Merida and Diaby out.

Rosicky will play a less significant role in coming seasons due to his age but for a midfielder above 27 to play with such flair and skill is really something that is rare in football these days. On the overall, although Rosicky is not as technically talented as Giggs, I’m quite sure Tomas will play a Giggs-like role in Arsenal as Ryan is in Manchester United. He can come on as a sub and impact the game straight away with his technical ability. I love watching him.

Merida reminds me of Fabregas, except on the wing. He has also the vision that Fabregas has. I’m sure it’s a La Masia thing. He has come of age but has not prospered like how Fabregas did as much as Gooners would want him too. But give a few seasons and he’ll soon form a devastating pairing with Fabregas. Just imagine Arsenal v Barcelona. Fabregas in the center with Merida. On their side, Iniesta and Xavi. With the younger Catalans, I’m sure our pair will cause greater damage.

I’m sure Diaby dances in his free time. The way he can approach defenders and jelly his way past them is amazing. It takes remarkable touch and composure to be able to do week-in-week-out. Although his mid-season flair died as the season closed, it was obvious that Diaby had a great 09/10 season. Remember that Wenger being Wenger played him on the wing. Diaby is a pure central midfielder, not an attacking or defending midfielder. A pure neutral midfielder. This season he played on the wing and showed how his strength can even merit him a center forward position. BTW, I played Diaby in FM08 as FC and even retrained him. He scores many striker-like goals and wins balls from opposition defenders. Maybe FM is really that accurate.

Anyway, thanks Nabz. I think the players you suggested in are quite excellent candidates actually. They seem to be Genie Scouted from FM.

  34. Ezekiel says:

Oh and Magical Arsenal, it’s amazing what faith you have in our players. I, sadly, will not be able to defend Silvestre like you do. Even though he does his best everytime he plays, sigh, it’s not that good.

  35. Ezekiel says:

I was just laughing at past transfer rumours. Apparently Babel was headed to Arsenal at some point. He’s probably looking at the Chinese sponsor logo on his shirt and regretting it.

Ryan: “Shouldn’t have listened to you mum! I told you Wenger was thousand times better than Rafat Benitez!”

Mum: “Uh, at least you get to see Nando everyday. I think he’s cute.”

    Ryan: “…”

  36. rvp fan says:

    Wuts our transfer budget?

AW shud defo use FM 10 Scout manager

    Amauri FTW!

  37. Nabz says:

    @rvp fan

rumours are 45M possibly 60M with the ppl ofloading emirates.

  38. rvpfan says:

    Hmmmmmmm xP

    Sounds gud m8

    Keep up the usefull info:)

  39. budski says:

@Nabz, well as tempting as your suggestion may be, as we all know, Wenger would never do such a thing. He’s super strict in transfer policies, as strict as special forces trainer to his newcomers.

@rvp fan are you kidding me? Arsene Wenger was the inventor of FM scouting feature. I bet all FM’s sources about young talents came from Arsenal’s scouting department. and FM is not that accurate at all, Fabregas in it were nowhere as good as he is in the real world. and I actually think FM are the place where all other club other than Arsenal are getting their infos about young talents. I bet Ferguson played it everyday just to see how his players would turn up. And in one of his saved game, maybe Pique became a worthless trash defender so he decided to sell him to Barca. WRONG DECISION. Wenger should’ve bought that bloke instead, him partnering with Verminator would’ve been amazing.

  40. rvpfan says:

    @Budski

LOL, thanks for the confidence boost xDDDDD

Nah jk. but yeh A.Fagerson FML, i bet he does:PPP

  41. Gooner says:

i’m sure around 3-6 new ppl will be coming to Arsenal! Chamakh for sure.. wenger has said that he wants an experienced player so ar least one there.. n i’m sure one new young player!!

  42. Nabz says:

i want felipo melo him and fab wud be deadlY
