Arsenal vs Wigan Highlights 3-2 – Meltdown!
Our defense sucks and we need a goalie. What’s new? After the scum had done us a favor by beating Chelsea, we blew it all away by giving up a 2-0 lead to Wigan. The back four looked leaky all game and I’m surprised Wigan didn’t score much earlier. At this point, I just want the season to end because just like last year, and the year before that, we’ve shown that we can’t handle the pressure. Yes, injuries are an issue but we are Arsenal Football Club, we should be able to go to our second team and still get a result in places like Birmingham and Wigan. Up 2-0, we simply stopped playing and Wigan, which was knocking on the door all game long, just took the chances they were presented. Frankly, we deserved to lose.

Remember he sent out Fabregas for that 18 min cameo against Villa when he was hardly fit. Gallas and Fab again against Barcelona. Today was the first match that I have missed all season due to the fact that I have lost faith in the current team as a collective. Call me a glory boy if you will but I have simply lost faith and I cannot shake off the disappointment of losing to the Yids. When we lost to Spurs this was truly one of the most depressing times as an Arsenal fan. Maybe we’ve had it too good being unbeaten for 10 years in the league against them but you know what the scum are like, we beat them ten years on a trot, finish above them and are in the champions league regularly but yet they dwell on the 5-1 cup win against our reserves and a bloody draw and to top it off I get shit from them next day at work.
I could go on about all the players we need to get and in what positions but again this is obvious, except to Mr Wenger! We need to bring in players that will make an instant impact. We cannot afford to buy young players that will need to “develop” over years. We need instant heros like big Thomas V. It will be extremely hard to bring in experienced players as they cost money and it will be even more difficult this year because of the World Cup. A player will only need to score a few goals and have a half decent tournament and the agents will add a few million to their price tag. I just prey that this pre-contract with Chamakh (IF it exists) is concrete as he has already bagged a few in the champions league which is drawing attention to him. I cannot blame Cesc either if he wishes to leave this year, again for obvious reasons. If he does stay I would be surprised especially as he will be hanging with his Spanish buddies and getting seduced to the dark side. If he does go PLEASE SPEND THE BLOODY MONEY we get for him. I heard we were saving the money from the Toure, Ade deal to offer him more so maybe that will keep him for another few seasons, fingers crossed but I also don’t think Cesc is all about money so who knows.
All I can say to these dark times is Barcelona didn’t win anything for roughly the same time as us to develop their players and now look at them. The thing about being a supporter is everything is out of your hands and sometimes you just have to believe. I will believe (again) at the start of next season. When we do win our next trophy it will be special and in a way that every football fan will admire.

Merida must just relax and enjoy the game, he was a bit tens for my liking but well done old chap! I would have like to see Vito start tho. Then, what about big old SOL!!!!! He is a champ, he still has the pace and the mental strength. I say we sign him for another year!!! Any takers? He did play his heart out. Come on the Arsene give him a new contract???
Now lets get to the negatives… where to start… Let start with the defence… To be frank, I’m not sure how I feal about Fabianski… The poor old guy, he hasn’t played since the Port game and we all know how that went… He had a few decent stops and I belevie he had a good game up untill you know when… I think we can give him the benifit of the doubt today?
Then the gay… nr 18… Do not believe he even should play for the reserves… WHY not play a young gunner and give him the exposure? Sylvestre WILL allow at least one goal a match, so give a 17 year old a 4 game run. If he makes a mistake and we loose 3-2 it is okay because we did loose 3-2 with that wanker…
So lets sell Sylvestre, Almunia and maybe (50-50) Fabianski and buy a WORLD class goalie, 2 CB and come on the free transfer for Chamak! If we do not loose any of the other players bring on the BARCA, MANURE and CHELSKI

It’s not just this season, too, every damn year we drop points where we shouldn’t have. We should have definite concrete wins against the likes of Birmingham and today against Wigan. The team stopped caring in the last 20 minutes, and Arsene should have brought on RVP earlier to get us attacking again.
The only positive I can think of right now is that, within the last 5 seasons, this has been our second best run in the premier league; we only did better in the 07-08 season where we were within four points of winning the title at the end.

Diaby hasn’t been playing well for 2 months, very inconsistent! He slows down the pace of arsenal’s attack and provides little creativity, also he losses alt of balls and is slow to defend. Time to spend some money to replace him. This will greatly improve arsenal’s game because that position is so important.

OK, to be honest – I can’t understand all these remblings in the last weeks. I usually don’t follow this blog except for the highlights (thanks for always being very up-to-date, Arsenalist! Hard to get the highlights in Germany).
I became an Arsenal-Fan in 2005. To be honest, I simply loved the way they played and the fact, that they had so many unknown, young players with potential. Toure, Eboue, Cesc, Senderos and so on.
To me it was amazing, to see such a young unknown team play such a great soccer and give the big teams a hard fight. Even get to the CL-final and nearly win it. I was simply amazed.
I don’t see anything Arsenal would need. I like B52. I think he is amazing plus he’s young (U remember, how Adebayor started off at Arsenal? Nobody did give a penny on him and see how he turned out). Sagna – great player. Song – magnificent. I could go on with each on of them (OK, I make an exception for Silvestre. I’m sorry, but he needs to go.)
Oh, and all those talking but goalies – Fabianski saved so many 100% chances against Wigan so that he should be allowed one fault. Bad, that it’s the 2 – 2 but it should never gotten anywhere past 2 – 0 anyways.
Almunia – remember against Barcelona in the 1st leg?

we ran down Wigan as well but only due to a sudden lack of motivation and their fans they have won this almost lost game in 10 minutes.
We won matches in the last minutes like this as well… due to our fans in the stadium and their patience and faith.

On the goalkeeper situasion: I think Arsene and most of the fans are just realy frustrated. We see so many good saves against us! However, we seem to let in so many soft goals! I hope we can sort that part out, overnight would be awesome;)
Lastly, I have been an arsenal fan for more than 10 years and I have to be honest: I prefer this team playing the attacking football rather than the 1-0 win week in and week out to win a trophy…

I guess wengers gotta start changing a bit in terms of tactics with defense! time n time again we’re let down coz of that! we need to be reallt stingy with conceding goals. so maybe some good cover for CB. Campbell has really been amazing for his age! but we do need some1 young as well.

just a few examples: when RVP got injured did we have a striker of his caliber to fill in?? I think (am convinced) NO; same for the centerbacks: TV is awesome but he (and nobody in the world) can go for the whole season; Gallas is very good but old-ish now, so, I think we need a deeper, quality, squad.
Johnny 46, I do agree in some sense BUT remember when Clichy got injured we had Gibbs and when he got injured we had Triore and when he got injured we were stuck with Sylvestre. We do have a lot of cover in MOST of the positions!In CB we may need cover BUT I believe we need to buy someone young (18-20 years old) so that he can learn from the older guys for the next 2 maybe 3 seasons!
Up front I do believe we have cover, if the cover is quality. Well that is debatable! I believe Wenger knows what he is doing! Arsenal 1st team will win the CL and PL and the reserves will win the FA and Carling within the next 3 years.

Do United have a striker with the calibre of Rooney to fill in? What about United’s centre backs? Besides Vidic and Ferdinand, they have Brown. I’m convinced that Sol did a much better job than Brown. Let’s not even get started about their midfield.
As for Chelsea, they spend insane amounts of money and I’d rather Arsene didn’t squander millions of pounds. I’m not saying we don’t need to buy, it’s evident that we do. But I don’t want to see Arsenal in the City, Chelsea bracket.
I can see where you’re coming from, but I stand by what I said. The first team are the first team for a reason, they’re simply better than the cover we have. And with them injured, it’s understandable that we won’t be as good.

Overall I’m pleased with this point seeing how hard the players have worked. Obviously this will again show Wenger why we need proper back ups for injured players. Man Shitty was defending all night and i do hope they lose fourth place due to the two points loss here. Then they’ll learn not to waste others’ time in future.
