I think it is okay to doubt Wenger’s decision, but one should not pass judgment before watching Campbell play. Now I have watched him play the first half of the game against Stoke City. I think he is okay, apart from the first minute mistake–but that is not his mistake alone, but also Fabianski lacking communication with his defenders, as well as coming out too late to claim the ball.Anyway, I think Campbell did okay for this first half. If I have to choose between this Sol and Silvestre, I will choose him to partner TV; but not Gallas..
I dont think Wenger will make a mistake if Sol did not impress these few months. Wenger will make mistakes, but before there is evidence to doubt let us give him the benefit of the doubt…

We had so many injuriesw this season. And despite this, the full-backs Vermeelen-Gallas have played every match! But what would happen (God forbid) if any of them is injured? Campbell will never replace any of this, but we need someone just in case.

i don’t think he signed campbell only to play… maybe his mental capabilities and experience could inspire the young ones, and also in the long run he can be even coach for arsenal. remember that we still have got djorou, who is injured, and silvestre as back-ups, so i don’t view wenger’s decision solely as back-ups to gallas and vermaelen. but welcome back campbell!!! it’s good to see you back…
