Arsenal vs Liverpool MOTD Highlights and Goals 1-1 – Adebayor yellow cards, Cesc Injured WTF?!?
Posted by Arsenalist on December 21st, 2008
Before the game:
Rafa’s going to miss this game because he has stones in his kidney…Nasri is back…a win will put the Gunners within 5 points off the leaders…Arsenal are 5th in the table after Villa won yesterday…This is Clichy’s 100th Premier League game
Arsenal Lineup: Almunia, Sagna, Djourou, Gallas, Clichy, Denilson, Fabregas, Song, Nasri, Adebayor, Van Persie
Liverpool Lineup: Reina, Abeloa, Carragher, Agger, Insua, Lucas, Alonso, Rieera, Gerrard, Keane, Kuyt
During the game:
Liverpool wearing some very hideous grey shirts with red shorts which doesn’t help watching this game.
RVP scores a cracker after a long-ball find from Nasri: Watch :: Download
Keane equalizes, we’re playing a tight line all game, finally got cracked: Watch :: Download
Alonso’s cunty tackle on Fabregas results in him being subbed out for Diaby. They’re talking about ligaments, not good. Watch :: Download
Adebayor is sent off for two of the softest yellow cards you’ll ever see: Watch :: Download.
Total bullshit. By this rationale Lucas should’ve been sent off about 8 times by now.

After the game:
We played inspired football with our captain out and with 10-men, definitely something to be taken from this game. Probably would’ve won it with Fabregas and Adebayor in there for a full 90. The refs love Liverpool, what can you say, remember last year’s Champions League ties? The foul called on Toure and the foul not called on Hleb, that alone pulled Liverpool through and today they got more help.

Not sure we would have won – for sure – but our chances would have been 100% better.
The ref’s are out of their minds on the cards they gave to Ade- Both of them. The second one wasn’t even a foul.

the youtube of the tackle on Cesc stops before the actual tackle, unless I missed something.

nolaboyd: Cesc tackled Alonso, and got injured in the process.
The last tackle in the clip if I’m not mistaken.

[...] + Adebayor sent off on a couple of weak yellows, van Persie still a Dutch Threat (TM), and Fabregas? Injury? Ligaments? That could be troublesome. . . [Arsenalist] [...]

[...] back led to confusion, and Gallas didn’t cut Keane off because he was in the wrong position. Watch the video again and you can see what I’m talking [...]

we were well lucky to get out of that with a draw. Liverpool outclassed us and adebayor should be banned for 2 over the top challenges.

also nolaboyd, you missed nothing, because there was nothing to miss. both players kicked the ball at the same time, and unfortunately fannygas came off worse. it was not a ‘cunty tackle’

farshid do you even watch and understand football?
reason why i ask if you think that a raised arm/hand isn’t a foul that hits a player then you seriously need to do some research ,, the 2 yellows were deserved
and maybe you missed the part of the game where liverpool were dominating 11 vs 11 and the red card helped us battle for once?

edit sorry i mean arsenal labradoodle
my apologies farshid i misread the post

LOL at gooner1985, “over the top challenges”. If that’s an “over the top” challenge I just wonder what your definition of a challenge is, two bodies touching?

All I want to know is if a Cunt Ref makes a bad call in the Forest – does anyone see it?
Just kidding.

Gunner 67 – The first card – Ade had his hand behind him when it was called and it was much less than raised more like keeping the Liverpool player off of his back To Quote Eddie Murphy to call a yellow on that is ” like saying a person who gets thrown out of a moving car was jay walking”
The Second Card arguably could have been 50/50. The Liverpool player obviously went to the Christina Ronaldo school of Acting. And you could argue that all Ade was doing with his hand was balancing himself.
Problem with ref is he never – in a million years should have given him the first one and everyone knows it. Except you I suppose. If that first one was a yellow, than that tackle on our guy to start the game should have been a straight red. I can not believe I am arguing this. You know what – here is the thing -if you think it was called correctly then I respect that – your wrong – but I respect your right to be wrong.

we played better with 10 men. Worried we have no pace in the side. A mate asked why we sold diarra – a disruptive influence i said. As i finished saying it I thought what about gallas? argueably more disruptive and how much would both be on the open market? guess we know the answer to that.
diarra is at madrid in their shirt – doesn’t the window work anymore?
Anyway without walcott, i honestly think we should put vela on for a bit of pace.
at some point I’m also hoping diaby turns into a central midfielder and actually play there. hope Cesc isn’t out for as long as they’re saying out there.
we are down to the bones now and i hope we buy a centre mid and centre back
