Arsenal vs Szombathelyi Haladas Goals & Highlights – Pre-Season Friendly

Posted by Arsenalist on July 22nd, 2008

Szombathelyi Haladas 1, Arsenal 1

A very lackluster performance by the young Guns. Walcott’s goal was nice but there were too many bad passes, not enough effort and just a general sense of complacency with the youngsters. The Hoyte brothers are not Arsenal material, that’s what I took from the game. Francis Coquelin, the kid we signed from French division 2, was quite impressive and played very hard. 3. Lucas Says:

Make or break year for Walcott this one.

He’s a little dumb for picking TH14′s number. What exactly is he trying to say?

  4. Joe Says:

he didn’t pick the number, he got given it u nonce! anyway he can step up to the mark easily.

  5. Chris Says:

Any Gunner who doesnt recognise that Theo is the best thing to happen to the club since TH14 is NOT a Gunner. Find me another player who could do what he did an Anfield. Oh sorry you cant.

You could see from even BEFORE he got the ball that he was the most determined player on the pitch to do something! And then he ran 3/4 length of pitch and made some good defenders look like it was Samoa vs Australia!

Get real. This WILL be Theo’s season. Best money AW ever spent.

  6. WackJacko Says:

He picked the number, its not like AW stuck a gun to his forehead and forced him to wear it.

Wilshire needs some time in the CC, he’s got the senses of a great midfielder and is closer to being ready than anyone on that team. Vela looked good but not great, I’m not sure if he’s physically ready for first team football, got bounced off the ball too easily/.
